I doubt the Jets are intelligent to have this much foresight, but why not hire the guy who runs a system that would work with a guy like Justin Fields? You may not love Roman or Fields, but it is hard to argue that pairing them together wouldn’t work. Get a few olineman and another TE to pair with Herndon and you would have something.
If the Jets draft Fields, a guy like Roman would definitely make sense. The only question is how Roman would do as an overall head coach.
Roman's and Brian Daboll's names should be at the very top of the prospective HC candidate list. If they're not, then there's a problem.
