This one is very debatable. I would have to say Ivory has been our best back since Martin. He has stayed healthy and put up consistent numbers for us since he's been here, all behind a mediocre OL. Some may say Thomas Jones since he eclipsed 1000 yards each season with us. However, he benefited tremendously from our elite OL (arguably the best in the league). Same goes for Shonn Greene, who looked like a monster behind that line. What do you all think? This made me realize that we really haven't had a feature back since Martin.

Man was Washington great. Every touch or reception had the potential to go to the house. Getting him in the 4th for Herm just makes it that much better. Can't believe I forgot to mention him in the OP.

No Feature back. No good QB and no star Receivers.

But to answer your question. I would pump for Washington as well. I loved the way he could duke defenders up. He always had the look that he could take it to the house.

I think this is pretty easily thomas jones:

    1,402 YDS 14 TD
    1,312 YDS 13 TD
    1,119 YDS 1 TD

we had the number 1 rushing offense twice with him as our leading back. 4000 yards and 28 TDs in 3 seasons and 2 deep playoff runs. im not sure how you can debate anyone else.

He is the jets 7th all-time leading rusher, despite just 3 years on the team.

Thomas Jones was the first guy I thought of.

Ivory and Leon get pats on the back though. Big fan of both players.

I love Ivory's style, and he's one of my top three or so favorite Jets right now for sure. But I liked Thomas Jones alot, and on the numbers he was probably the best since Curtis.

I wasn't a huge fan of TJ, but he wins this one easily.

Thomas Jones was so under appreciated when he played with this team. He was an excellent back.

He was. Wish he never went down when we needed him the most.

T Jones was a work horse. Ivory always starts off gang busters but ends the season with a wimper. Gone are the days of featured backs.

Chris Ivory is the best pure runner the Jets have had since Curtis

Jones just accomplished so much more, and was a true workhorse for us.
    have to go with him..

would give Leon an honorable mention too.
at one point, he was our biggest playmaker on offense, while giving extra value as a stellar kick returner (when kick returns still impacted the game)..

No honorable mention for Leon, he was a backup.

We got more out of Ladanian Tomlinson.

Leon is 2nd in franchise history for all purpose yds, and was here only 4 seasons.
sorry, but that does deserve a tip of the cap.

that said, Thomas Jones is the right answer.
