Taken from today's NYPost.com: Hard to dismiss as just another article by another hater. Especially after last night. Thoughts?
Putting tebow in was a disgrace. You cant do that to your starting qb if he is playing fine up to that point,
I don't know why people are broken up over the loss last night. If the Jets made the playoffs it would have given the false sense of success to the fan base. Meanwhile, the infrastructure which needs to be replaced would have remained because you "can't fire them because they made the playoffs". Of course that's IF they made the playoffs. The Jets need as high of a pick they can earn.
Good read. I can't disagree with much in the article. Not sure at this point if Rex deserves another year though.
Sounds like a Sanchez defender and Fanboi. Notice how quick he is and deflects all the blame away from Sanchez onto Rex, the front office, etc. Trent Dilfer does the same thing.
Im more confused why so many people are so upset? People had high expectations for no reason, The Jets are just going through a process, we peaked 2 years ago, are declining now, and will probably be back on the rise next year. Giants missed playoff in 09 and 10, after peaking in 08. Next season im expecting a rise again.
Soxx, remember back in TC how we were sold the stories about just how great this team was and how they had some kind of "secret offense" that would include Tebow and revolutionize and terrorize the league? Remember how the CS went through all these gyrations to conceal this "offense" to keep opponents offguard? You wanna know why everyone from the fan on down to the hotdog/beerguy is pissed? Its because we were stupid enough to believe that this FO/CS were telling us the truth. Once again we bought into The Rex Ryan Show. Now we know it was all a steaming pile of wet bullshit with flies. It's not THAT they lost and didn't make the playoffs over these last several funfilled seasons, its HOW they went about it that has everybody PTFO. Its one thing to lose professionally. Quite another to lose in circus fashion. Now you know why we all can't wait for the circus to leave town. A lot of us are just sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I think people are also unusually upset because there was a glimmer to Sanchez the first two seasons. The idea that maybe the Jets had found an unusual QB who could win gritty when the going got tough at the end of the season. Instead Sanchez was exposed as just a bad QB who had gotten lucky a few times at just the right time to make a big impact. To have him turn into one of the worse QB's in recent memory over the course of a season and a half was very hard to watch. He's not all-time bad by any means, but he's definitely bad by the standards of today's NFL. It's another situation in which a QB tantalized us by doing things early on that he could never repeat again. That's like the kiss of death for optimism. The next guy could come in throwing darts all over the place for triple scores and I wouldn't believe it was real until about season 4 or so.
All the crap about Rhythm is ridiculous. Tebow's series started with 8:53 left in the 2nd Q. Sanchez returned to the field with 4:03 left in the 2nd Q. Do teams never go on 4 minute drives? How does a QB ever find a way to get into rhythm after the other team team goes on a 4 minute drive. Sanchez also knew Tebow was going to play the 3rd series. How did Kirk Cousins do it. In the game out of the game back in the game. Still didn't stop him from torching the Ravens on the last drive. How did RG3 do it In the game (gets hurt)..out of the game..back in the game.. Still torched the Ravens on the last drive.
The only reason Rhythm is talked about is because guys like Trent Dilfer hate Tebow and want to try to bring him into the discussion to say that somehow destroyed Mark Sanchez mentally. This is the NFL, if you are that mentally fragile that you cave in because of the backup QB, then you really shouldn't be in the league in the first place.
Serious question... Do you think putting Greg McElroy in place of Sanchez makes this team a Super Bowl contender? Tim Tebow? Hell, Philip Rivers??? Football is a TEAM sport. Peyton Manning is the best QB of this era and only has one ring. Tom Brady has become infinitely better since his last Super Bowl... why haven't they won more? Sanchez is gone for sure, but this team has many many more problems than him. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
Not that much more. Sign two good WRs, a good RB, and SOMEONE to get to the QB and we're right back in the thick of things. Obviously, get a stop gap QB.
Super Bowl. No. But all they needed was a Game Manager to make the playoffs. McElroy probably could have got them there. Even Tebow they could have ran him 50 times a game and they would have been better off than the Turnover Machine Mark Sanchez.
Making the playoffs is pointless if you can't win a Super Bowl. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
