After off season disk fusion surgery. This does not look good for the young man. As much as I hate the Giants I hate even more to see this stuff. Doesn't sound like this is going away anytime soon, if at all.

David Wilson's comeback with the New York Giants is on hold.

NFL Media's Kimberly Jones reported Wednesday that the running back will miss practice for the remainder of the week and sit out Sunday's Hall of Fame Game against the Buffalo Bills after suffering a neck burner in Tuesday's session, per the team. A burner is a nerve injury resulting from trauma to the neck and shoulder.

Wilson underwent a battery of tests Tuesday night at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. The third-year runner is scheduled for further examination on Monday by Dr. Frank Cammisa, who performed Wilson's fusion surgery on a disk in January.

"We were all praying that it wouldn't be an issue," coach Tom Coughlin said Tuesday after Wilson left practice.

A healthy Wilson gives New York one of the NFC's more intriguing backfields, but the Giants wisely used this offseason to prepare for his absence. Look for free-agent addition Rashad Jennings and rookie hammer Andre Williams to lead the way until Wilson is cleared for play.

He has a really good attitude - I think he'll do just fine in life after football.

Oh yeah, I agree. It's just so unfortunate that a supremely talented guy never got the chance to fully take advantage of those talents.

The kid could motor and I'm sure with time he would have gotten over the fumblitis.

    Just sucks for him.
