Too much bitchin when ain't enough winning I'll admit first off I'm guilty as anyone. When things go south I start looking at who is responsible for the demise. More often than not I'm wrong. Not enough facts and knowledge to make a decision. I must depend on Rex and Tanny to do that, but boy is it hard. The Jets right now are a house divided. right or wrong the team is spending too much time assigning blame and not enough time looking inwards to what each and every one of them can do better. a) Rex would have done himself a huge favor by spending less energy talking about going to the superball and more energy helping the team play like a superball contender. b) Players blame each other, and they do it in public. What a huge mistake. Sure the OL could do better, but so *could the receivers, and the runners, and for Pete sake the QB, and hell yes the OC. How about all of them getting together in a room and figure it out and play like Jets instead of talking like Jets. c) The D that Rex talks so much about is not playing to the minimum expectations by a long shot. Get is fixed now, One feeds on the other, a strong offense is the best defense and vice versa.* d) I am of the opinion that talking fixes nothing. So everyone is better of shutting the hell up and showing it on the feel e) What better time than on Monday night against a mediocre team that can play tough but missing a few pieces f) Message to the Jets. We are all in this together. Stop the taking and bitching and start the playing Your loyal Jet fans are getting impatient WINNING FIXES EVERYTHING
Blah, Blah, Blah.... Another person pointing the finger. Yay! Blah. I have decided that I'm tired of reading all of this "the sky is falling" crap. It's all over the place. Everyone is acting like Rex isn't capable of making this team elite. He has proven that he can, and I am confident he will get this team on track heading forward. I refuse to shit the bed until the season is over. If the Jets don't get it together and miss the playoffs, then I will be critical. Until then, I'm just going to keep breathing and realize this is only the first quarter of football. Some people are so dramatic. It's getting to be hilarious, a lot of people are going to feel really stupid at the end of the year when they start jumping back on the bandwagon.
The Superball? I think this year it's between the Pro Bowl and the Super Bowl. It's for teams that don't meet expectations on the season. We're penciled in along with the Eagles.
Your last sentence says everything. We are all frustrated but if we lose on Monday it's time to panic.
You know, I don't really have a problem with what's going on right now. I actually kind of like the idea of everybody in the locker room being fucking miserable during a losing streak. I hope they all hate the current situation. If Santonio and Moore were all kumbaya right now, it would probably indicate that they really aren't affected by a three game losing streak. Winners hate losing. It's a good thing.
I still stand by the opinion that the brashness and villain attitude that this team had over the past two seasons was a factor in them showing up and playing well. They've been quiet this year, and it needs to stop. Get loud, get mean, and get back to playing New York Jets football the way Rex likes to play it.... Motherfucker.
I think the whole fractured locker room thing is blown out of all proprtion by a media that needs 24 hrs a day stories. What have we really had happen so far? holmes having a bit of a whinge and one guard saying "that wasn't a very nice thing to say" and that is about it. Its hardly like these guys are throwing down on each other on the practice field. These players are supposed to be professionals (and are certainly paid that way) if someone having a bit of a moan about them is enough to throw them off their game then seriously WTF.
We're fucking bullies. The last two years we talked mad shit and backed it up every fucking single time, save for 45-3. We need to go back to being the villains. No more of this quiet good guy shit, because it doesn't suit this team. Hell it doesn't fit the modern professional athlete.
As unprofessional as it was for Holmes to go public, It was much needed. Our offense has been the downfall for this team under Rex. We needed someone to speak up, and let everyone know it isn't acceptable. Some will say our defense hasn't played that well, but it is our offense. IMO I would rather it had been Rex, but Holmes will do. Now it is time to see how the team responds.
