I can't help but think about how put off GS was by Sanchez' Jet's West and now he does the same thing. All 3 qb's should be out there taking turns. Where is the leadership?
Geno said if the QBs wanted to go - they could. If not whatever, let Geno get some more reps in. Glad to see him take the initiative.
I don't think Brandon Marshall will have a monster year, but I do think he'll impact the offense significantly with his presence.
He'll be productive and he'll also make the rest of the receivers on the team better. Decker especially benefits tremendously from having him around. Between him and Devin Smith, who provides a skill set previously lacking in the past, the receiving group should seem much more exciting this season.
Maybe you don't recall that Sanchez told Geno he could go too but he wasn't too happy and he didn't go. For those of us thinking we would be better served by Fitzgerald, I would really like him to get these reps with the offense too. What good does it do to only have GS get the reps if he gets pulled after game 2? Or even if GS does well--can the back-ups not benefit from this practice?
Fitz will get his, he needs to get healthy first and foremost. He knows the system, Geno needs every opportunity to work with these guys.
Yup. His comments were anything but leadership like. Sanchez openly invited everyone to Jets West. Even Geno. Geno's like 'yeah, anyone can go'. _
I was referring to Bowles as the leadership--I personally don't expect any meaningful leadership from GS. Maybe he'll prove me wrong but I haven't seen it yet. Regarding the "invitation", why do you think Fitz and the rook aren't going? They just don't have a good work ethic? Why didn't Geno go to Sanchez's? What kind of fucking invitation causes people not to go--think about it.
No, I was expecting it from the de facto leader of our team, or who should be. If you are going to be the starting QB of a franchise, the leader of the team, the face of the franchise--which is what the QB is SUPPOSED to be--he should have invited everyone. Like Sanchez. None of this wishy washy shit. And this isn't the place for Fitzpatrick to do it--that would be spitting in the face of the message the team has been trying to get out-which they are failing miserably to do. If this was Jets Midwest (which is a joke, Geno should have insisted his home turf and let Marshall take off a few days from changing diapers--like he's really doing that), he should have made this all inclusive. It looks like the opposite of leadership. It looks like followership with no accountability. I hope someone tells Geno to reset his watch, he's going to a different time zone. _
Maybe you don't recall that Sanchez told the media that he invited "everyone", but when Geno was asked about it, he didn't even know what Jets West was and said that he would go as soon as Sanchez told him about it. I guess we'll have to wait and see if Fitz or Petty say the same thing that Geno said about Sanchez to see if they really were invited or not.
Go away WVU fan. Sanchez specifically invited Geno and Geno was such a pussy he couldn't bring himself to show up. His false pride prevented it. There were no invites to Petty or Futz because this wasn't even Geno's gig, he's just a hanger on to Marshall's Showtime reality show. Why do you think it's in Chicago? Because of diapers? Lol so naive. _
Btw, Geno doesn't even know what time it is. He actually missed the widely reported and media event that was Jets West? Stop. Get a new watch. _
Geno is wasting their time. I would take ANY QB on this roster to start over Smith. ANY! Smith has been benched five times in two seasons and the worst rated starting QB in the NFL the last two years. On any other team he would have been sent packing. I think most would even take Sanchez back, and we sent him out of town express. Last year Sanchez completed 64.1% with 14 TDs to 11 Ints. Yep take that over Smith any day. And Sanchez had to learn a new everything last season.
this is some stupid meaningless shit to get on Smiths case over. its nice to see guys try to work with each other on their own time, but making anything else of it is just nitpicking. Marshall went down to florida a couple months back to practice with geno, maybe brandon said lets do it at my place next time or something, who cares. this lull between minicamp and training camp is, apparently, for digesting a playbook, moderate practice, one last vacation for all staff and players, and fans to spout bullshit about nothing...
