SI truth and rumors: supposedly the jets want to swap picks with the raiders (yes i know nothing new) but what i haven't heard, is that if they get the trade off, they will draft haloti ngata. This could raise questions as to whether tangini likes d'wayne in a 3-4. My ideal scenario would be to get mario with the 4th pick and run a 4-3, then we wouldn't need to get another linebacker. I pray this rumor of getting ngata does not happen. If we have that the seventh pick i want to get vernon or d'Brick. unless it's mario, i dont want to go defense with the 4th overall pick. Here's the link:

PS: Please dont kill me if u've heard this before, i haven't...

No one likes Dewayne Robertson in a 3-4. He doesn't have a position. If we trade down to 7 it will be interesting to see which of these 7 players is still on the board (Bush, Mario, Leinart, Young, Brick, Hawk, Davis). It would be a choice between that player and Ngata. With that being said, I don't know why Oakland would trade up to 4. If there target is Vince Young, the Jets probably aren't interested, the Packers and Niners both have qb's, so why trade up when it will cost them probably more then one draft pick and a lot more money.

I like Dewayne in a 3-4. But I like Dewayne and Haloti in a 4-3 even more.

May I ask you what about him you like in a 3-4? Do you see him being a nose tackle that takes up space?

He's not a bust, in 04 he had his best year but when Fergusen left he struggledthe guy ran like a 4.7 and is strong all he needs to do is learn the system and gain weight.

I do not want Ngata at all, the only reason he is so high is because of his size, on the filed he is not as good as Bunkley or pothead Wroten and I would still rahter have Wright than him

d'wyane is a fat slob. why that didn't cost Bradway his job is a mystery to me. the giants traded up and got Eli Manning. We trade up and get a guy who averages like 1 sack a year.

remember, bradway also traded up 2 spots to draft Santana Moss only to dump for higher-paid coles...

Forgot D-Rob in a 3-4, he's not even good in the 4-3. i don't understand the point of having him. He might make a decent backup or role-player in the 4-3, but he's definitely not worth what we're paying him and what we traded away to get him. I'd be surprised if he hasn't had to restructure his deal already.

I think there is a very good reason he hasn't restructured.... so it would be easier to cut him next year.

Could D-Rob be moved outside in a 3-4 to DE?

B/C he doesn't exactly fit the NT model. thoughts?

Yea, thats almost certainly where hed fit in if this team were to switch to a 3-4. But frankly I dont see the teams interest in Ngata as meaning much of anything, whether were in a 3-4 or a 4-3, we could still use a good nose tackle.

For those bashing Dewayne... right now hes a solid player. His knee concerns a lot of people because if hes playing through pain the rest of his career, he might never develop into a top end player. But hes far from worthless, and I very much doubt that Mangini will throw him under the bus. Belichick designed defenses to put the best 11 players on the field, thats what Mangini will probably want to do too, and right now Dewayne Robertson is easily one of our eleven best defenders.

You all amaze me. This entire board went apeshit when we drafted him everyone was so glad. When Ferg was there in '04 he made huge strides. Simply because Ferg was playin his ass for a contract and allowed D'Rob to play his position. Ferg leaves and D'Rob becomes the space eater ... which he did I might add. The entire defense had a crap year ... D'Rob eats double teams the entire season and is now labled bust.

I think a few of you need to learn the game of football a bit better and stop reading stat sheets.

Does he fit a 34? We won't know till he is put in the position.

all i have to say is #4 overall.

also what big NT does tommy harris have next to him? or Darnell Dockett for that matter? they both make plays without a great NT next to them. Roebertson came out being touted the next warren sapp. he has turn out to e nothing more than a workout warrior

i like the idea of grady jackson as our nt in a 3-4 and dewayne and grady jackson in a 4-3. SO y dont we sign unrestricted free agent Grady Jackson and not worry about DT in the draft.
