He may lose his job in San Fran after their best season in quite a while due to the Manning Sweepstakes. NFL Trade Rumors @nfltrade_rumors Alex Smith will visit the #Seahawks next #NFL
Random rumor (http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/c...th-negotiating-dolphins-throw-manning-waiting) says Alex Smith is negotiating a contract with the Dolphins for EIGHT MILLION ANNUALLY, which would mean he's not waiting on Manning to make a decision... Other reports say Smith only wants to leave the 9ers if he's forced out by Manning, but how ridiculous would it be if the result of Matt Flynn going to Seattle is that the Phins overpay for Smith and the 9ers gamble their quarterback spot on Manning... In the end, the 9ers trade up for the Jets pick to take Tannehill. Not really.
They drafted that kid Colin Kaepernick last year that people were pretty high on. They were only looking for Smith for 2 year deal I believe to give him more time to develop. http://www.49ers.com/team/roster/Colin-Kaepernick/6e4c644b-16eb-48cd-96b7-f4ee48868219
What is the thing about Tannehill? Isn't he a converted wide receiver that has only started 7 games at QB in his life? Seems pretty risky for a pick that high.
This is comedy gold.....Manning..nah....Flynn....nah.. Smith....erm yeah he will do......how much $8 million...we can try and tell the fans it was the offense and not the defense that got them to the NFC Title game
$8 million/year for Alex fucking Smith? I almost feel sorry for the Dolphins fans at this point. ALMOST.
Whatever Smith gets, it will be more than he would have gotten yesterday..from either team...all the power is with him now.
I doubt the 49ers will budge on their offer. He supposedly has had a 24 mil for 3 year deal on the table for awhile. I think they'd just move on to Kaepernick and bring in a vet to push him.
If they do they will regress. Smith was named their starter a month ago. They must feel he is better than anybody else they have. They were close to the SB a year ago, I doubt they really want to step back now.
The contract was left on the table the whole time. Alex could have accepted it and manning spec would have ended. But he didn't accept the offer and just like every other NFL team would do, they started shopping. Similar to how players do it too. I think the situation of trust being hurt between him and harbaugh is over blown.
