http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000403869/article/titans-looking-to-trade-justin-hunter Not sure how accurate this is, but I say we make a move.
Seems like these stories pop up and are always vehemently denied but then the guy ends up getting traded a week or two later. Since we're desperate for WR I'd offer a 5th or maybe a 4th since I don't really value our picks with Idzik anymore. Don't expect a game changer though. My hopes would be that he could turn into a solid WR3. He's got good height and reach, decent speed/agility but - and I don't know if he put on some weight since - he was pretty thin coming out of college. So tall and thin type WR. Selected in the 2nd, he was overdrafted by a few rounds in my opinion because, although he had 1st/2nd round college stats, you can see he did his damage against the weaker teams. 8 of his 9 TD's in '12 were against Georgia State, Akron, Troy, and Kentucky. Nothing to brag about, GS was a D2 team and the others were practically on that level too. Against the better teams he didn't do much even though he had Cordarelle Patterson helping to take a lot of heat away from him. Now he's been given a big role to fill in TEN and having a bad case of the dropsies lately. I think they're putting too much pressure on him. Basically they want him to be a #1 when he was a pretty pedestrian #2 in college. He has better hands than this though. He could thrive as a role player WR3 type guy but not as a game changing playmaker. If he put on mass and got stronger, I'd have a higher opinion and maybe expect a little more out of him. So maybe that's the silver lining here because unlike his other measurables, mass can be gained and strength can increase a lot without taking away from speed or agility. It just takes a smart training program and hard work in the weight room. Look at Denard Robinson for a recent example; he was too small and weak last year, he looked terrible. He went from being a featured "weapon" last year to being an afterthought this year. But he bulked up and got stronger in the offseason, and it paid off, he looks like a different player, he's looks like legit running back now. He's still shifty and has good vision but now he can move with power and gain yards. Basically he strong armed his way from depth chart fodder into getting live game snaps on that team again and I think he'll probably overtake Gerhart as their main back before the season is over. Again, not expecting that to happen with Hunter, but it's a possibility and maybe his weak thin frame is why he couldn't put up the same numbers in college against tough teams, maybe it's part of the reason why he's not been an NFL success so far as a focal point of an offense. Now I have not really watched him play in the pro's at all so if someone has I'd be interested to hear their take on the things I mentioned.
