Two cool pieces on how Brandon and Sheldon put the team (wins) over their individual stats. Sheldon especially is impressive since he's doing the dirty job that people don't appreciate, and he has also seen his stats take a hit because of his expanded role on defense. But it paid off for the defense. Ever since Coples was released and Sheldon took over the position it seems like the defense finally functions the way it was supposed to. The team first attitude and the chemistry the players have is what we've been missing here the past few years. Sheldon Richardson has a new position on Jets' defense http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york-je...rdson-has-a-new-position-on-jets-defense-mpb7 Jets: Team first, says Brandon Marshall http://www.northjersey.com/sports/football/team-first-says-marshall-1.1483116
Sheldon was pissed off last year over how bad the team was. The guy hates losing. He may be a knucklehead but he gives 100% on the field. Sounds like he's bought into what they're doing as a team.
I like Marshall saying 'we' when talking about 1968. It's the right thing to say. I think. It nudges the team into the center of the stage. Well played, I say. I like the attitide. Positive and confident.
I'm still shocked over how good Marshall has been here , both on the field and with what he says to the media. Maybe some of that is him actually being a part of the media already, but all the same if it sounds sincere , then that's good enough for me. All his career he's played with either bad QBs or ones that seem to not give a shit (Cutler). Imagine the kind of numbers he could've put up playing with an actual committed NFL caliber QB before this season.
Imagine the Pats getting him for a 5th. Scarry. I'm not sold on Sheldon, he says the right things and is great on the field, but his off field antics need to stop. Hopefully this new team leadership can turn him around. He doesn't have many strikes left on his pitch count.
Unfortunately that team leadership won't be making his decisions for him in the offseason when he's in Missouri. Gotta grow up sometime though. Hopefully for him and the team that time is sooner rather than later.
We won't be able to keep Everyone at some point the Teams gonna have to decide who to Keep between Sheldon,Wilk,Harrison and Williams. One of them will have to eventually go and it won't be Williams, all three deserve big contracts
Maybe. I thought he was odd man out once we drafted Big Cat, and Coples would be part of the front line. I was wrong, and Coples lost his job, and was odd man out.....and Snacks has been great. Snacks is better than I thought he would be. Hope they can keep him. If Deon Simon can play he might be gone tho 'cause of the cap numbers, unless he gives us a deal, I doubt that tho.
