Probably better for the Jets that he didn't choose Miami although I don't think he will ever be the coach again that he once was. http://eye-on-football.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/34356748
He made the right choice there. Doesn't have to play Brady twice a year, has the 2nd pick in the draft and more pieces in the cupboard to begin with and a better fanbase.
Or this Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 4m Jeff Fisher's agent is Marvin Demoff. Rams executive negotiating deal is Kevin Demoff, Marvin's son. This will not be a difficult deal.
I just love the fact that Miami said they will pay more than any team out there period, and they still didnt land him
Fishers not even that great of a coach. I wish he woulda went to the Phins. Fisher only succes was losing a Super Bowl, his teams were always mediocre.
He coached a team to over 10 wins 6 times while with the Titans. Some of those Always medioce teams went 13-3. Some young football posters seem to not remember how good his teams were in the 90's. Some older ones seem to forget that he won games saddled with Vincy Young at QB becasue his owner wanted to draft him. Fisher may not be Lombardi, but he's not a mediocre coach by anymeans.
I agree about that.. Fisher is a solid coach. He was where he was because his teams were almost always in it. Especially given they have shared a division with Indy.
He has 6 playoffs appearances in 18 seasons. Had huge let downs in his 13-3 seasons against the Ravens twice. four 4th place finishes, six 3rd place finishes. I wouldnt take him, thats just me.
Right, he lost a superbowl which makes him better than any Jets coach in the last 43 years..I'm glad he went to the Rams.
Word on the radio this afternoon that Fischer was close with Miami, but could not bridge "organizational" gaps. Meaning who runs what. Now this from PFT Report: Ireland’s role ultimately sent Fisher to St. Louis http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/13/irelands-role-ultimately-sent-fisher-to-st-louis/ Dolphins G.M. Jeff Ireland wasn’t a particularly popular figure in Miami heading into this offseason. The events of the last few weeks won’t change things. The Dolphins went hard after Jeff Fisher, but they ultimately couldn’t close the deal because of Ireland’s presence. Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports writes that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross wouldn’t budge on Ireland’s control over the 53-man roster. “This was Miami’s game to lose, and Ross decided he wanted his current G.M. to retain his current level of power. So the Rams got their man,” Silver said. “Fisher was willing to meet halfway on personnel control, but Ross wouldn’t budge. He’s an Ireland man.” Perhaps this is Fisher’s view of things and the Dolphins would disagree. Right or wrong, the Dolphins are going to be Ireland men for a little while. It’s time for Ireland to deliver the next Don Shula to coach those Ireland men. So who might that coach be? Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald writes that there is no favorite for the job now. The Dolphins are expected to expand their search after already interviewing interim head coach Todd Bowles, Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer and Bears special teams coach Dave Toub.
Interesting how you ignore otehrs who disagree with you and go after Don. Pickign the low hanging fruit there a bit? How about defending your stance about hm not beign a good coach? Would be interesting to see you try at least.
And my arguement is what makes a coach good? He made the playoff once every 3 years. Is that what good is? because thats below average imo...
