Let's set something straight here: Favre is the greatest QB to ever play the game. All this bullshit hype about him being a liability needs to be put to rest, by the fans and the media. How many of us could dislocate a finger, have it snapped back into place and return to the game? Can you say Iron-Fucking-Man? How many records does the guy hold? Let's not slight the man because our OC finally figured out how to game plan. QBs are going to throw INTS, unless of course they're throwing dump passes 3 yards out every friggin play. Lett's not mention names..... But everyone needs to get off this guy's ass and making him out to be the problem. Mangini and his BS comments and the media getting on his shit...it's tiresome. Schotty is the issue. Put together a gameplan and the man will shred Ds. Put together a dipshit plan and you're going to get INTs. Bottom line. Nice to see the D finally played ball too.
Brett Fav-ray can throw the ball so hard, it can circle the globe and hit him in the back of the head.
I think so too, and I saw NFL Matchup where Jaws noticed the same thing. Green Bay fans have seen him like this for 16 years and love him. He comes here, he's a huge problem.... we are the ones who are wrong.
Because Jet fans could get a fucking arsenal of Red-Rider BB guns on christmas and still be pissed that black bart wassn't tied up in a bow under the tree.
Impossible; If me and Brett Favre were even in the same general vicinity; The surrounding area would be instantly destroyed, as that level of awesome cannot be contained in one zip code.
Favre: 180-263-1812. 6.9 yards per pass, 10.1 yards per completion. Pennington: 163-242-1991. 8.2 yards per pass, 12.2 yards per completion. Favre is probably throwing more 3-yard dump passes than any QB in football. He's certainly throwing more of them than Pennington is.
So you think Favre's not throwing enough 3-yard dump passes? Actually, his INTs are coming on every kind of throw. As Football Outsiders put it,
Favre makes 3-4 horrible throws a game. Sometimes we catch them, sometimes the other team does and brings it in for 6. if he could somehow stop these bad decisions, we will make the playoffs no problem.
The funny thing is people keep pointing to how well Chad is playing. Farve has 3 more TD's then pick. Chad has 3 more TD's them picks. YEt one of them is a problem and the other is having a good season. Only Jets fans think like this and can not take the good with the bad. Its silly.
Favre is the man, I can't believe how much of a warrior he is. He's been hit, and hit hard, numerous times this season. Even when he looks rattled, he bounces right back and is ready for the next play, unbelievable.
I can't believe all of the Penny(less) fans on here. I forgot, how many SBs has he won? How many MVPs has Chad won? What was his record under center last year? What is the Jets record right now? What is the Packers record right now? What is the Dolphins record right now? Isn't it all about the dubbyas? You Favre bashers need to get your heads checked. Seriously, why do you still have Chad avatars up on your profiles?
Brett playing like shit, and Chad playing well is simply a function of threat assessment. 1. Jets have a talented WR corps. (compared to other teams, absolutely) That means, with QB like Favre, the opposing defense will get torched if they don't do something about it. Arizona showed the world how Jets passing attack will set the opposing defenders on fire if no measure is taken against the passing attack. 2. That means; teams will be geared into passing defense. That's the primary threat from Jets offense. We all saw how hell-bent defenses have been toward passing attack after the Arizona game. Compared to the threat of Favre, threat of Thomas Jones/Leon Washington and Co. seems like almost nothing. (It isn't. - or at least Jets brass must make sure it's not so.) 3. Pennington in the same situation? Hell fucking no. Ricky Williams/Ronnie Brown running the ball vs Pennington dinking and dunking - which looks like a more legitimate/more pressing threat to you? (If you answered Pennington, just drop dead.) 4. With Favre behind the center, any opposing D will take the passing attack more seriously than the running attack. With Pennington behind the center the opposite holds true. That's all there is to it. Is it clear?
