What a friggin baby. It's not Green Bay's fault they didn't get Randy Moss. Moss was only talking to New England - he wouldn't answer his phone for anyone else. Which is dumb on his part in my opinion but - okay - you can forgo millions and millions of dollars in the hopes off winning the Superbowl if you want. Either way, the addition of Randy Moss would not get Green Bay to be a Superbowl caliber team. And what team right now is need of a QB that has a better chance of going to the Superbowl than Green Bay? Maybe Favre can go back up Brady and then he'll finally be with Randy Moss and have a really good chance of being on another Championship team.
I have always liked Favre, but knowing the end is near it must be pretty hard for him. I think he still has a year or two left in him, but he needs a solid team around him now. He can't carry them on his back anymore. I would rather see him retire than leave the Packers though. Putting on another uniform just isn't right at this point. It would be the obvious end. I cannot think of a team he could go to at this point that just needs a QB either. Might as well stick it out.
Favre was a great player in his time and was a pleasure to watch as a fan... W/ that said, the day he retires and all the media hype surrounding him dies, cannot come soon enough.
If I'm the Packers GM I'm basically jumping for joy right now. This guy has basically held the franchise at gun point the past 5 years or so, unable to release or trade him due to what would undoubtedly be the biggest PR nightmare in the history of the sport, they've been hamstrung, and forced to put up with his mediocre to awful play. And that's not even including the whole retirement tease he's been reveling in the past 3 seasons. This may be the least selfish move Favre has made in his career. He's effectively given back fan support to whatever move the franchise makes. Now let's see if it's the right one.
I agree completely...it looks like the team stuck with him and his primadonnaish demands for a coupla years, and now this is how he shows his loyalty...Raiders here he comes...
Should we trade for him?? Just kidding. I don't get the urge for Favre to retire, he is still an above average starting QB in the league.
