We all hear about "Manny Being Manny" with his crazy style of playing, but he's one of the BEST of all-time and he is awesome at the plate. Favre was hancuffed in the Pats game, fine...The scrutiny got to Mangini/Schotty and boom...They just said, Screw It. You're going to get INTs like today that make you wanna scream, some will, and yell "WHAT THE F***." But that, my friends...Is Favre Being Favre. If he throws a bomb in triple coverage and it gets picked, you look over to your friend, shrug your shoulders and say, "Man that's just Favre Being Favre." Whether it's 4 TDs, or 4 INTs...Just let him sling the ball around and accept the results, good, bad, or worse. FAVRE BEING FAVRE!!
lol, I like that, nice thread and you know what? After 4 games...Favre ONLY has 4 int's... The man is playing really good
You know something......Favre got ripped for throwing some picks last season. Guess what? They won 14 of 18 games. Point is, you'll win a lot more than you'll lose by putting your trust in #4.
Yup...Favre is also the #1 ranked QB after 4 weeks. Favre also leads the league in TD's thrown with 12 (Only 4 ints) And Favre is also #2 in the league with a completion % of 70%... Favre has been better than any Jet fan could have dremed of
16 INTs in a season will put you in the Top 5 in interceptions...and that's not the "good" Top 5. Anyone who watches football shouldn't be surprised with Favre's performance thus far. He makes some throws he shouldn't that get picked, but he makes others that lead to positive plays.
Yep Favre is who we thought he was! An as for today and the INT Favre as myself though the cards were offsides and just through it up thinking it was a free play. Ref's were pretty shitty.
Dude...It was 3rd and 1. He could of ran for the 1st... If you think it's a free play, you bomb it to your deepest receiver... Not throw across the field off your backfoot... I was simply in awe at how he could throw it...But it didn't lead to any points!
Good Post. The only thing I would add to your comments is that when Favre blows up and throws 4 or 6 interceptions it is in games where he is trying like hell to keep his team in it and its a lost cause otherwise. It is very rare that Favre screws up and gives up a winning game. Everyone points to the NFC title game where he threw 6 to the rams but 2 were tipped passes and the Rams were just the shootout team that year and the Pack was the wildcard. I truly believe that Favre or Marino if they had the weapons the Pats had last year would have set the TD mark where nobody would ever have a shot at it. I am excited about this season because this is the best receiving corps I have ever seen Favre play with. Note that as he gets used to these guys the ball is getting to them right where it should and note also how these receivers for the most part run good crisp routes
TT couldn't bother to give Favre a Moss or a great tight end. Who, Ryan Grant?? Yesterday he averaged a little over 1 yard per carry. See, the thing about Favre is, he plays with no fear. That gets him in trouble, but is, I think, the key to his greatness. He has said over, and over, I think I can score a touchdown every single time I touch the ball. He really believes this. So, you guys now see, good or bad, but not boring!!! And always feel with him, you have a chance. One losing season in 16 years at GB, that says a lot. Glad to see Coles catching some.
I'll take a QB who takes some chances, and tries to squeeze the ball into tight spots any day over one who just 'takes what the defense gives him'. Favre is averaging 3 TDs and 1 INT every game. I'd be perfectly content if it were only 2 TDs and 1 INT/game. Either way, his overall effect is very positive, and the team is better because he's here.... PLUS- he sure is fun to watch!
