Nobody else has been as much of a "sure thing" as Mangold. The fact that you never hear anything negative about the guy speaks volumes.

Running the O-Line as a rookie and I think that he has 2 penalties MAX for this entire season.

    Doesn't get any better.

So far, absolutely. I think that most folks have Ferguson pegged to be the best one down the stretch, but if you were to grade the two today I'd give Mangold an "A" and Ferguson a "B+"

either way, theyre both good. it was kindof like that draft when we got abraham and ellis, it doesnt matter what order we drafted them in, they were both good. until abraham had his stupid groin injuries.
abraham for mangold was a great trade..:)

Its hard for me to pinpoint a favorite draft pick but the best one right now is no doubt Mangold. He looks like he will be the anchor of our line for the next decade. Overall it looks like the best Jets draft since at least 2000, maybe ever.. Don't underestimate the Clemens pick, getting him plus what looks to be a high 2nd round pick could end up being an incredible move down the line..

that had to have been one of the smartest moves of the draft. dont forget, another smart pick was drew coleman out of TCU. he started some games at CB this year, and remember he was a 6th round pick!

Its nice for me to be torn between Washington, Dbrick and Mangold....most drafts I would be happy with 1.

Mangold has been solid as a rookie, just wait till he gains more experience/strength....great pick.

I voted Mangold. I was leaning towards Leinart with our 1st pick, but wasn't totally upset over the O-line pick because it had to be fixed. Mangold was who I wanted all along at 29 though and was extremely happy they made that pick.

Also, as great a name as D'Brickashaw is, I like Mangold better.

MANGOLD! At this point he has been the best rook.

Apparently like most other people I voted Mangold - for a rookie to step in and run the offensive line as effectively as he has from day 1 has been remarkable. Ferguson, Washington, and B. Smith have already become impact players as well. This is not necessarily a surprise with a rebuilding team, but the front office deserves a lot of credit for coming up with this many effective players.

For once, we have a lot of good choices! I was going to vote for Schlegel for kicks.

I went with Neon Leon. I like that he has been such a sponge in the classroom, that he has really taken to the coaching and his performance has been as good as I could expect from a 4th rd pick. That he was acquired with the Herm pick makes it even better.

But, on a more personal note, I love the story about how he gave up the chance to be a captain at FSU his senior year and did not participate in offseason workouts because he felt a responsibility to help his family back home. I don't think we'll see the likes of Curtis again, but Leon takes some of the sting away.

i voted mangold cuz he's been so solid in every way. He's been better than D'Brick, but D'Brick has also been very good. These two picks are turning out great so far.

Schlegel apparently had a nice week in practice awhile back. As bad as our D has been, you have to wonder whether this guy will ever crack the lineup.

GOLD BRICK - I like that name when referring to these 2.

I voted Brick, although Mangold is 1B.

D'Brick has been quiet. When an offensive lineman is quiet, and not being talked about, that means he's doing his job. He's been good in pass protection and is getting better in run support. Gonna be a hell of a player for us!

Right now the best looking pick is Mangold as far as development, but as far as favorites go, Brad Smith is easily my favorite pick of the draft. You don't find players with his poise, potential and athleticism on the second day of the draft too often.

Opposing coaches have seen this immediately and they shift their defenses accordingly. You never see that with day-2 rookies who have as yet not seen the field very often. Especially day-2 rookies going through a position change. This dude is going to be special for us.
