What do you guys think the game will be like this week? I checked the NFL team stats and it has the Bengals as #2 against the run and #14 against the pass, 6th in rushing and 22 in passing. The Jets have the #1 ranked rushing team (30th passing) and #1 overall defense (9th against the rush). With that said and if the Bengals play some starters, I doubt they would play C. Palmer what do you predict the game to be like. I have not seen the Bengals play much and don't no what kind of schedule they had, so just wanted to get some educated opinions. :jets:
It benefits them to sit their starters. I think they get us round one if they lose on Sunday, or the Ravens if they win. Proven post-season competitor, or rookie QB, if I were a Bengals fan, I know what I'd want.
If Sanchez gives a great performance, we will win. If Sanchez gives an OK performance, we will win. If Sanchez sucks, we will lose. I put our chances of winning at 60/40.
Again, not to sound like a broken record, but the Bengals lost Starting Linebacker Rey Mauluga with a broken ankle yesterday. His injury will probably scare them into resting a lot more guys than they would have. Also, Carson Palmer's hand is still hurting so much that he has been handing off with his right hand becasue his injured left thumb has not healed. He has already said he will have surgery on it after the season. Plus, Marvin Lewis and the Bengals remember what it was like when Palmer went down in 2005 because of Kimo's cheap shot. They aren't going to play anyone, except for Coles, who will probably be texting Chad Pennington throughout the game.
If we get up by 14 or more, we'll be sitting our starters and going vanilla too. It would be nice if that could happen early in the game.
I just hope the spotlight of the Sunday night game and the must win situation don't get to Sanchez and some of the others.
Thats a great point. Sanchez has shown, especially at home, to let the moment get bigger than him. Hopefully he can settle down enough not to throw INTs or fumble.
The bengals the last few weeks haven't been scaring many teams. They don't score a lot of points, Palmer only threw for over 220 yards in that span and that was against San Deigo. He was under 200 yards in half of them and if DR takes Ochocinco out of the game don't expect 200 yards against the top passing D in football. I think even at full strength this is a great matchup. Two very similar teams playing smash mouth. I see Benson, Palmer, Ochocinco all resting Sunday. Big dose of Larry Johnson and JT Osullivan. (W) Steelers 18-12 (L) Raiders 17-20 (W) Browns 16-7 (W) Lions 23-13 (L)Vikings 10-30 (L) Chargers 24-27 (W) Chiefs 17-10
I expect greatness and comforting win. I'm sick of that pit in my stomach that does not go away until the clock strikes 0. Put more trust in Mark, let him get into a rhythm again, we are going to need him if we want to make any noise in the playoffs.
i think if we pull out to a nice lead and they are playing their backups we shouldn't necessarily rest anyone but we should reign in the playcalling so we don't give the bengals too much to work with
I don't understand why we as fans should be nervous about the limelight in our win and in scenario game. Though I do think the Jets have a penchant for fucking up when it matters. The whole country watches playoff games, and that's where we want to go.
