It's funny how quickly our power ratings go up and down each week. We are #6 team in the AFC right now, so 14 overall seems about right. The fact that the Jets are even in the playoff picture now after the difficulty of the last 5 games compared to the rest of the schedule is pretty sweet.

I forget which other one I saw today where the 4-4 Dolphins were 15 last week and 15 this week and the Jets are 16 both weeks. How do the Dolphins who only beat Atlanta, stay ahead of us when we just took down a Super Bowl front runner?

Yea these things are stupid and should completely be taken with a grain of salt. Walterfootball I believe dropped us two spots after the Saints win... say what?

Hm, I guess it was the week before they played Atlanta.

I don't know what happened to Cinci but they were like two different teams. Against us, Dalton looked like Joe Mantana. Crisp passes, right on target. Against Miami, he looked like Ryan Leaf, all over the place.

When you think about it, other than the Cincy game our defense has been pretty dominant.

That showing against a high-fueled offense like NO opened even more eyes.

A dominant defense keeping you in games on a consistent basis is going to keep the perspective of the Jets positive all year.

We're never going to be a team in the low 20s again while this D is playing like it is.

But these rankings mean nothing--thank the lord this isn't the BCS or the NCAA touney.

Let's see the Chiefs are 9-0, so let's put them sixth.

It is impossible to rank the Packers without Aaron Rodgers but let's put them ahead of the Jets anyway.

    Horrible, just horrible.

I agree, but we all know KC is not the best team in the league. They have a terribly ranked offense and a number 6 defense I think

With Holmes coming back, hopefully we can make some noise. Keep this power ranking stuff for college and their BCS crap.

6 playoff teams from last year rank in the bottom 12 of the league, including the superbowl winner. Success one year is definitely not a guarantee of being competitive the next.

Martin didn't play that game and I think Incognito left early with an injury.

I'm actually pretty happy with the rank at this point. Pretty good company above, no one that I think we -should- be ranked ahead of.

14 is top half of the league. Far cry from 32. They could have been douchy, ranked us in the 20s with some comment about Folk, luck, and penalties.

Rank us 32. Jets are only good as underdogs.
