Vet minimum=sign me up! The guy is a good RB and could be our 3rd down back...

    Completely agree.

Only problem is, he wants to be in a starting role. We signed Goodson for that starting role. Either way, he will bring competition to the RB's, just like Idzik wants

I only read that Ahmad Bradshaw is interested in the Jets here. Misleading thread title

No thanks, draft a guy in the mid to late rounds. I like Goodson as our starter, no need for Bradshaw

  8. If they bring him in...we are again talking about competition.

Bradshaw/Powell/McKnight/Goodson would be a mighty interesting camp battle.

Why not bring him in AND draft a RB?

If he comes at the vet minimum, we will have Bradshaw, Goodson, Powell, McKnight, and said draft pick to compete for the starting role.

Sounds like the exact competition our organization has been pushing for.

I don't think we signed Goodson for a starting role. A back up, yeah but I think as of now Powell is slated as our #1.

Ah, I see. If he wants to start, I'd pass. Guy has an injury history. I'd feel more comfortable with him backing Goodson up.

I watched a lot of Giants games back in that dark time of being a Jets and giants fan, and he's explosive. I'd love him in second half situations up big...

I think we did sign him to be the starting back. It may not seem that way, but he has never had the chance to show what he can do as a starting back, which I think is why we brought him in. Let him compete, but they probably think he will win the battle and be the feature back.

Albert Morris was drafted in the sixth round. I would rather look for a guy like that. Goodson should get a chance to be the #1 even though I liked Powell last year ( because he reminded me of players like Goodson!)

I think our running game could be tremendous with Bradshaw splitting carries with Goodson and Goodson catching passes out of the backfield.

cap space and draft picks. with goodson signed i wouldn't want to use the cap space to sign bradshaw and a draft pick on a rb.

use the money on a safety or o.l. and draft a rb

Makes no sense we're rebuilding, he's in his prime and will want too much coin.

True, but I think we have enough room to grab a safety like Pollard or Landry and Bradshaw (at the vet minimum) and still have plenty of room to work with

We were probably interested BEFORE we signed Goodson. Too many holes

Not to nit pick, but this is 100% not true. We signed Goodson to compete for a staring role with Powell and McKnght. The mantra of competition is not just for the fans sake. Remember that Idzik comes from the team that sat Flynn on his ass despite a big contract.

If we can sign Bradshaw on the cheap to come in and compete all the better. Contract or not we should not be anointing anyone the starter at this time of year.

Just because we are rebuilding doesn't mean you don't grab a guy who can be very effective for you.

We are rebuilding which is why we have grabbed Goodson and have Powell. If Bradshaw was being targeted as our only back, then I would have a problem with that, but as a split back with Goodson, I think it could be very effective.
