All that dumb shit he did with the Jets and took to the browns, isn't flying with Holmgren. He's been stepping on mangini nuts since he's been there. The latest; mangini stupid QB competiton isn't going down again. I'm enjoying it so much.
An article link would be nice. What not just start one big thread that says "Random observations from an infrequent poster?"
i'm never this guy.. but this is entirely in the wrong forum plus its retarded IMO Mangini wasn't a good enough coach to still be spoken of after coming off an AFCCG appearance
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4952142 Holmgren eyes one-man show at QB Team president Mike Holmgren says the Cleveland Browns don't intend to undergo a quarterback competition for their starting position, and said it was a "long shot" whether they would have both Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn when next season starts. "They did that last year. And that didn't work out," Holmgren said Friday, according to The Plain Dealer of Cleveland. Speaking from Indianapolis, where the NFL is holding its annual scouting combine, Holmgren said he wanted to "turn the team around very quickly." "You can't wait too much longer," he said of choosing a permanent starter at quarterback. Holmgren, who helped develop NFL quarterbacks Joe Montana, Steve Young and Brett Favre, has watched tape of Quinn since taking over the Browns in late December and has said it was too early to make any determination on his potential. But he said Friday that the team ultimately would seek consistency from its starter. "Somebody's got to play a full season. Not two games here, out two games, in three games. . . . It doesn't work," he said, according to the Cleveland newspaper. "So pick one, commit, coach him up, build confidence, make him better and then surround him with good people." Anderson, a fourth-year veteran, is due a $2 million roster bonus in March. Quinn opened the season as Cleveland's starter, was benched after 10 quarters, then got his job back. He went 2-7 in nine starts. Quinn missed Cleveland's final two games after hurting his left foot in a Dec. 20 win over Kansas City. He finished 136 of 256 (53 percent) for 1,339 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Quinn's numbers on that awful excuse for a team are actually good for a young player. Let the kid develop. He'd be a decent QB. Nothing great, but he'll get you a playoff appearance. Have some fucking stability.
Unless Mangini has a very good year he's just holding the fort until Holmgren can step in as the Browns new head coach in 2011 (or 2012 if 2011 is a clusterf*ck.) It blew my mind that Holmgren would keep him around for this season, but he's really nothing more than a whipping boy and a convenient scapegoat. Mangini wouldn't have found much else out there at this point so he fought for the job. I think he'll regret that in the end.
I was watching the combine today and they panned the camera to Mangini and Holmgren. It was kinda funny how Mangini was basically just lounging a seat below Holmgren. No question that Holmgren is running the ship and Mangini is just along for the ride.
mangina needs someone to step on his balls and remind him he doesnt know shit. sadly this may be the best thing that ever happened to him and he may end up becoming a winner because of it. oh well heres to hoping he gets hit by a bus
I honestly don't wish any ill will to Mangini, I just like our current coach 100000000000000000000% better.
