Just heard it, sign him, I understand hes older but Rex knows how to get the best out of players. He cant play worse than our secondary tbh.
For a low level contract worthy of his role as a part time player, sure. A Vet presence like him would be a boon to the younger players on this squad.
I can see him wanting to come here above all teams just because of Rex and the position we are in today. Forgot about waivers, though damn.
The only thing about his waivers is his play recently. If Reed couldnt find playing time on the Texans backfield then I doubt teams are gonna wanna claim him. But they could just grab him for the name
I wouldn't worry about waivers too much because I think the only teams that would be picking him up this year would be teams contending for a playoff spot. Remember, the worst teams have first dibs. The Jets are on the fringe of those teams that may want to pick him up. But I think he will clear waivers anyway. I don't think he'll see that much money, either. Maybe he'll just retire...don't know. It'll be interesting to see what happens, at any rate. I wouldn't bet on the Jets nabbing him.
WOW. I think he's pretty much done, but you know Rex is on the phone with Idzik right now...... what's his contract like and how do those bonuses tie in, in regards to waivers?
