I agree that Washington is too explosive to see a limited role. He's one of the few guys on the team that can take it to the house on any play from any place in the field. It will be interesting to see how the ball gets distributed this year.
Leon averaged 10.7 carries and 12.5 total touches a game over the last 14 games. Not feature back numbers, but more than a bit role player. I see no reason why he should not get similar numbers this year even with TJ in town. If his role does get any smaller it will leave me scratching my head on why our most electrifying player is on the bench so much....and tossing a few colorful words at the TV when my kids leave the room.
Way too explosive to not be on the feild for 10-15 touches. Jaxsonville employed two backs sucsesfully and we will as well. I just hope we've done enough on the line to make some running room for our backs.
I'm excited about the whole offensive package. Put them all together and you've got an offense that can explode at any moment, something opposing DCs are going to get many a headache over.
I agree completely. Leon's elusiveness and speed is needed on the field as much as Jones' power and strength. After watching the ESPN highlighted season of the JETS on ESPN last week, it was chilling to once again see what Leon did to defenders trying to tackle him. It will be an exciting scene to see TJ and Leon both lined up in the backfield . Adalius Thomas' wife was overheard in a supermarket saying that her husband can't stop crying, in bed, and worrying about Week 1 with Shottenheimer calling the plays. Shottenheimer has since gotten the news and sent a box of tampons to Thomas' house.
I got to watch him first hand at FSU, leon's the man. I think bookers gonna have a similar role with the fish, hes one shifty guy.
 Oh man, great stuff. Leon's gonna et his touches, no doubt. I said it last year too, but he can pretty much be our poor man's version of Reggie Bush out of the backfield. I wouldn't mind seeing him come onto the field in the backfield and then proceed to split out wide before the snap a few times.
I am always pumped when Leon is on the field, he is just an exciting player to watch and man can he cut. He has earned his touches and will get them, you have to utilize a playmaker like Leon.
And to think... we rid ourselves of Herm and got Washington in return with that 4th pick. Man, it doesn't get any better than that.
I didn't think of that, great point. And Leon doesn't have to have Dick Curl standing next to him saying "pssst, the clock is running down!"
yeah same here...big FSU fan here and i was pissed when the fish got him! he should do good behind brown
I don't think anyone expected a limited role anyway, he is too much of a playmaker to limit. They will split the carries, and they may even be on the field at the same time alot.
Vilma, there is a pretty good description on ESPN.com under Fantasy. They ask and answer 32 overall questions and Thomas Jones is the topic. It will boost your confidence in your pick. Just hope you weren't being a homer and took him in the first round.
he'll probably get 10-15 touches a game...whether he's getting carries or receptions he'll still put up some numbers.
I realize that I'm putting a little too much hope into Thomas Jones; especially since I've been a JETS fan my whole life and should be sticking with someone established and proven. But there is just something about Thomas Jones that fits perfectly into this system. He lives to work hard and play football; he never has yet mentioned any word that resembles selfishness, and he's a solid back who I think will substantially improve our offense, if not team as a whole. I think he will be closer to 20, but now we're just splitting hairs.
