The Jets would reportedly be "thrilled" if UConn RB Donald Brown fell to them in the middle of the second round. The Jets need a successor to Thomas Jones, who turns 31 before the start of the season. Even if Leon Washington takes on a larger backfield role in the future, he would need a bigger back like Brown to share the load. he never really stood out to me, but the kid produced week in and week out. he isnt a real flashy kid but brings his lunch pail and gets the job done week in and week out...... hmm sounds a little like curtis martin
I really think he is the objective of the Pettigrew/ Freeman smoke screens. Trading down makes a lot of sense in this draft and we could use an extra pick or two. Brown wont make it past Arizona in Rd 1 unless Moreno or Wells falls bad and that ain't happening.
I had Donald Brown as our second round draft choice in my last mock and people thought I was crazy... Right now, I'm hoping for Jarron Gilbert in the first and a wideout or running back in the second.
Would be great if he's there in the middle of the second round but i just dont see that playing out, I Got em getting drafted in the top 10 of the 2nd.
I would be thrilled if Brown fell to us in the 2nd but it's very unlikely he will. We will need to move up to get him.
honestly I love Donald Brown, I think he is just a guy who gets things done, he's not flashy, he doesnt do anything that nobody else can do, but at the same time for whatever reason you just cant stop the guy, he gets stuff done, and thats the kind of guy we need in NY.
