http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/30056/report-dolphins-lose-first-rounder-odrick Edgar Thompson of the Palm Beach Post reports Miami Dolphins first-round draft choice Jared Odrick's season likely is over -- after one game and one tackle -- because of a broken leg. Odrick hurt himself at Wednesday's practice, Thompson writes. It's uncertain if the rookie defensive end from Penn State re-aggravated a previous hairline fracture or suffered what would be a second broken leg in about six weeks. The Dolphins have not confirmed the injury, but head coach Tony Sparano is expected to comment Thursday. Odrick started the season opener at right defensive end, but broke his right fiblula in the third quarter and hasn't played since. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the injury was to keep Odrick sidelined only for two weeks, but the recovery dragged on. The Dolphins have fared OK without Odrick, but they haven't been able to operate as they intended defensively. The original plan was for Randy Starks, last year's started at right end, to play nose tackle between Odrick and left end Kendall Langford. Since Odrick's injury, Starks has returned to right end. Paul Soliai started at nose tackle until Tony McDaniel stepped in last Sunday at Green Bay.
That sucks for him, but it happens. Not sure why they thought it would a two week injury originally, to play on a fractured fibula, hairline fracture or not, it irresponsible.
Bunch of idiots over there at Dolphins coaching staff...Getting this guy out there only to sideline him for the rest of teh year
Oh well I think he played parts of their 1st game. That has to suck basically to sit out a year. I wonder if the front office is kicking themselves right now.
