it is a big distraction, but they did go 11-5 and made the afc championship that year. I also enjoyed watching it so I'd like it again.
Hell yes, as already pointed out it didn't hurt them last time. If anything it probably brings the team more together.
I would like to see my team. Yes This time I know Cromie has been practicing his team... I mean his kid's names. I want to see the body lingo between Holmes & Sanchez ( No Homo ) just saying I think they'd put on a smile just to please the camera but you can always tell when something is wrong. And I want to see how Tebow gets along w/ the other guys. There's def negatives that could come from this. But I miss those guys lol
F HBO. Documenting this 'era' of the Jets is a good idea but letting HBO lay this preseason out there for all the naysayers to have fuel for their naysaying is NOT a good idea. It's not like there isn't enough naysaying now. Besides, based on my extensive viewing of Jets' message boards (this and others), I've become convinced, even if the Jets were to win the Super Bowl this year, most naysayers won't stop naysaying, as many (not most) Jets fans have invested their reputations in naysaying. It's almost as if having a persecution complex is a requirement for being a Jets fan. If the Jets do their own documentaries and release them in the following off seasons, there is an opportunity to encourage a 'Jets are winners' attitude rather than the 'Jets fans must suffer' attitude that seems to currently prevail.
After last season's collapse and the accusations of bringing the Tebow circus to town, this is the absolute wrong season to go on Hard Knocks. It is time for the Jets to stop with the posing and to concentrate on what it takes to unify the locker room and win games. TV cameras are the last thing needed in Cortland in 2012.
It was cool to see all that behind the scenes last time. Also, it WASNT a distraction seeing as how we did pretty well that year.
I'm not for doing the show. There's enough of a carnival atmosphere surrounding this team already and enough distractions with the Tebow acquisition that I think it's best to focus on putting a great product on the field as opposed to on HBO.
I think the tv show forced chemistry while they had fun at camp with all the cameras think about all the egos i want to see it
It helped last time because they were a feel good story after 09. The cameras won't get off Sanchez\Tebow......
If you say Hard Knocks isnt a distraction, then your lying to yourself.... A bunch of TV cameras in your hotel, practice, gym, following certain players and coaches around is a HUGE distraction. But i LOVED Hard Knocks with the Jets on it. Getting to know our coaches and players was an amazing thing to witness. Even though weve got so much drama going on, I still will be selfish and say YES to Hard Knocks.
