Wow people were really down on Harvin for some reason, I'd love to have him on our team. And wow way too much Crabtree love and Sanchez hate.

look at this gem after the sanchez pick:

That was a funny read. What a bunch of dumbasses on this board, I am happy to say I am not one of them.

it's one thing to have a wrong opinion on a draft pick (I was psyched for DRob), but its another thing to not be able to see value - I mean, we absolutely got the better end of the Cleveland trade, it was obvious immediately.

My favorite part of that thread were the people upset about losing Ratliff. The man couldn't even get snaps with that disaster of a QB situation in Cleveland and the team was forced to trade for Seneca Wallace and sign Delhomme.

I don't think I have ever seen so much love for a 3rd string borderline NFL Qb before and I don't think I ever will.

I agree, even looking back at it without considering how good Sanchez was or not... all we gave up was a second and three players who were borderline and able to be replaced in free agency, to move up something like 12 places?

Yeah that's pretty awesome. I don't know who won the deal though, I mean who would you rather have? Sanchez or the Delhomme-Wallace regime in Cleveland now?

I really, really wanted Crabtree. And I wasn't a big Sanchez fan. Time will tell, but it looks like I'm swallowing my words.

I remember driving back from a Yankees game that afternoon and hearing the annoucement on the radio that we'd traded up to draft Sanchez. As I waited for the next WFAN 20/20 to hear the actual trade details, I silently resigned to myself that we likely had lost David Harris since rumors/reports leading up to the draft had indicated that many teams (including CLE) picking ahead of us were asking for DH to be included as part of any trade-up package. Color me shocked yet elated when I found out what we actually traded ... my first thoughts were ... "Are you kidding me? Is it April 1st on the calendar? Was this one of those wink-wink kind of deals between buddies? There must be more we're giving up ... STEAL!"

I had the same kind of reaction. I was terrified that they gave up the world to get him, which even kept me from celebrating when it was clear Sanchez was our man, but then when they announced the trade details I freaked out. Probably the greatest trade robbery in draft day history (don't think Hershel was on the actual day).

    This proves one thing:

It's not worth getting upset about your team's draft on draft day..

Not just on that. You also made the argument against Greene. I, and several others, argued that he made our RBBC one of the best in the league. You said middle of the road. Open up for some crow

People weren't down on Harvin; they were down on Harvin as a pick for the Jets. There were two reasons:

    1) It bugged the hell out of TBJF.

    2) We had more pressing needs in the 1st and thought Leon would become more of a receiving threat last season. Regardless, I'd say our pick was better spent on Sanchez.

    In fact:

The Vikings-Cowboys trade involving Walker occurred in October of 1989.
