It could just be that the reality is he knows Hack is terrible and does not want him out there. The coaches get to review the guys in practice every week and Hack may not be making the strides in meetings and in his limited attempts that Bowels would like to see. He has shown willingness to play younger players to some extent, although more so on the defensive side of the ball where his expertise lies.

I'm not a huge Bowles supporter, but I have very little faith that the answer at QB is on the current roster.

That may be true, but with the season coming to an end, what is the problem with letting Hack play a real series of downs? How about in 2 weeks at home against the Chargers? How about garbage time in NE? Practice is against players you know. Real game experience cannot be substituted for with practice reps. Play Hack for a series and be done with it. The Jets have nothing to lose.

Oh I agree with you there. One thing to remember is Bowles pressers mean nothing. He keeps his cards close to the vest even when it does not make sense to. His outward statements are always to name a starter and stick with it. He will support Petty ,right up until he removes him, to a fault. He's the anti Rex in what his public statements actually convey.

Bowles may or may not be the right choice for a young QB. Morton is the bigger issue in any QB's development though. I think, if he's back, he will be confident enough to sit any QB no matter draft position and that is a good thing. Doubly so if we don't fix this leaky Oline.

I certainly don't but its not because of the handling of Hack. I'm just tired of Bowles at this point. Tired of laying over, tired of bitching and complaining about his inability to do the most common sense things in game.

I won't get on him in terms of QB play. I think last year he screwed it up badly with allowing Fitz to ruin the season before turning to Geno, but I think ultimately had Hack separated himself in preseason, we wouldn't be having this convo about Hack rotting on the bench. I think Bowles wanting to stick with McCown all season would mean that he doesn't think much of what Hack and Petty have to offer.

Ultimately, barring some sort of miracle, I don't think our roster has our QB of the future.

As we approach the offseason though, Jets ownership has to look at this situation as one that may catapult the jets, or doom them for a few more years. If we land a top 5 or 6 pick, which I think we will, the Johnson's will have to ask themselves if they want Bowles coaching going forward. The implications are paramount to this teams future.
