Alot of people, including myself, feel like we should have the next two games in the bag, but the reality is we don't. Detroit is coming off their first win and will likely have some confidence coming into New York. Roy Williams, Kevin Jones and Jon Kitna can all play some good football. Chad Pennington should have a pretty damn good game so im not worried about losing too much, but I don't think there is anyway we can just give ourselves the win. I say... Jets- 27 Lions- 17 Keys to the game: Get better at stopping the run- We don't have to become the best run defense, but it would be nice to see some improvement. Chad Pennington- He struggled early in the Fins game, but bounced back and had a great second. I think he should have a big game Sunday and we will need it too. Jets Secondary- Contain Roy Williams from doing too much. He is going to get his catches so just make sure when he does catch them we make the tackles.
I'm wary of their offense. Kitna is no great shakes, but the tools around him are impressive. R.Williams, Furrey and Jones are all capable of big days.
This is the NFL. There are no easy opponents. Chicago beat Arizona (wow, that was a shock, I fell asleep at 23-3), where everyone thought that was going to be a landslide win for Chicago.
d-line can be really really nasty at times. offensive line is avg but imrpoving. our key to victory is throwing the ball being that the Lions have given up more Passing TD's than any team in the league. Penny just might have a huge day if our OL can keep him standing up
There will be no such thing as a gimme game this year. This year we win on attitude and execution and giving for 60 minutes. Any team we face has a chance of beating us.
i agree, but knowing they give up more passing TD's than anyone in the league should be an equalizer to our run D. at least I hope so. i think Kitna is a great game manager though so our only hope I think is generating some more TO's.
hey isn't our former 2nd round pick Jon McGraw on the detroit lions. Pennington should take it to their secondary as long as he has enough time to throw the ball.
That offense can put up some points. These guys are a good test for us b/c they are better then there record indicates, and it will take a good show on both sides of the ball to pull out with this one. We both are along the same path as rebuilding teams with bad defenses. The question is who is going to be good enough to put up the most points/limit there mistakes at the end of the day. Jets...by a little. Jets - 34 Lions- 31
We don't play Detroit often, but the last time I remember I thought we should have won and didn't. They played a good game against Buffalo. I think Sunday will be a tough game for us.
SHOULD pass for alot of TD's and we JUST said the JETS should be able to run all over the PHINS. UMMMMM did that happen.
also agree, you cant take any team lightly, look at the cards, almost beat the bears, but then choked!!! poor lienart HAHHAHA
If we jump on them early instead of feeling them out for a quarter and a half they will lie down. If we keep them around they can make plays on us down the stretch and steel this game. It should be a blowout if Pennington brings his A game.
the only hands down passing team theyve faced thus far are the Rams. our passing game is as good as the bears, vikes, packers, and bills. at least IMO. dont throw stats either because the bears O got exposed finally last night. and people also said Penny was done.....ummmmm did that happen?
