I know Mangini doesn't like to post a depth chart before camp starts. How long will it take for the NY Jets to be the last team in the NFL to post a depth chart?

Do you like that he doesn't post one right away? It does make our Coach and team unique. It does play into what he preaches.

I'd rather our opponents have as little information about us as possible with as little time to prepare, so I'm all for it. When i turn the game on Sunday, I'll see who's playing. It's not like I have to game plan against them.

Couldn't agree more. I also get the sense that he doesn't do a depth chart to make a point to the players that it doesn't matter who's starting, or where you are on the depth chart. What matters is what you do when you're on the field. If you do what you're supposed to do, you'll play, regardless of the "depth chart". Keeps the veterans from getting too comfortable.

I don't think that it matters, I really don't care too much. Plus, Eric didn't actually post one all seaon last year...the Jets personnel dept. posted it because the NFL makes you.

Heh, didn't Mangini just post it in alphabetical order last year?

    Same here.

I also think depth charts are not nearly as meaningful as they were in the old days. Now, with the multiple substitution packages that most teams' use for each unique game sitiuation, depth charts are an anachronism these days.

I also think "starting" has much less significance these days for the same reason.

Can't a depth chart wait until after final cuts... Really what's the rush?
