Jordan White is a key contributor ? If he catches 20 passes this season, that will have wildly exceeded my expectations
I honestly think that if White stays healthy he can start somewhere. Look at his college tapes, he's a really good roite-runner and he had like 120 receptions his last year in college. Reason he was drafted so badly was because he's always injured.
Problem is who does he start over ? You got Hill and Schillens who have some serious size and way more speed. Holmes who is our only proven guy Kerley who as much as Rex has ripped him actually has some chemistry with Mark. So at best that would make White our 5th wr (But I dont know if hes really going to beat out Turner). And our 3rd option in the slot (behind Holmes and Kerley). I dont see us EVER putting White on the field this year as anything other than a slot, so at best hes a special teamer. Unless someone gets hurt Hopefully he can do something more next year
If White stays healthy, he could factor in. Holmes is starting at one spot. Every other WR spot is up for grabs with young competition. I liked White in college, it wouldn't shock me if he looked very good in preseason and forced his way into the mix.
whats the report on Kerley? Kerley is good i could care a less if he looks like trash right now he can play.
Demario Davis is what this team has been lacking. Cant wait for him to contribute 3-4 ILB 4-3 OLB he will see the field plenty.
Rex called out Kerley saying he needs to do better. And I love Davis. The front 7 sorely lacked speed/athleticism last year. Adding Davis and Coples will really help, especially if Maybin keeps improving.
I also read the ones about how White fractured his foot in May and recently is just starting to resume running. 7th rounders who missed most of the otas with injury(and wont even be 100% for TC) arent a good bet to get alot of snaps
In your eyes not the coaching staff. So hate the guy I dont care, I wanna see all the players do well. Im a NYJETS fan and anyone puts on the uniform I root for to do well.
hes essentially average atheltically whos route tree is NFL ready. the system he was in kind of opened the field for him though so I couldnt tell you if he can read defenses as well as it would look on film. solid hands, but he was still injury prone in college. he was a good guy to take a flier on, he probably lands on the PS. unless he pushes Turner off the roster. which i dont see happening cause Kerley is essentially a more athletic version of him. they want more size in the WR corps ie Schillens/Hill to compliment Holmes/Kerley. White is a good insurance policy for Kerley though.
Kerley is better than a 7th round pick who can't even run right now because of injury. Rex called him out in the media in July. Theres a better chance White gets cut before week 1 than him starting over Kerley. Also I like you make it sound like you are rooting against Kerley and for White and than you say this.
I could've sworn it was reported when White got injured that he was going to miss the whole season...
lol what ? I hate the guy ? I said he BROKE HIS toe and couldnt run for months missing camps/otas and all that. Id love the guy to end up being a perennial probowler monster, that doesnt mean im expecting a guy who is just getting over injury to come in and displace our young slot guy who pretty much EVERYONE said looked incredibly promising last year. White has the potential to be a football player, but the odds of it happening this year are very slim
White: He'll contribute a lot by just being the dedicated punt returner. Remember all those punts Jets fumbled or almost fumbled last season? White has excellent hands & he'll dramatically reduce the chances that Jets will lose games on special teams blunders. As far as contributing as WR, I'm not so sure. Maybe when Jets put out 4-5 WR on a play he'll get some field time. http://www.footballnation.com/content/jordan-white-scouting-report-under-radar-draft-prospect/14210/ --> "White has already had two major ACL injuries which will likely scare a lot of teams off. He missed the entire 2008 College Football season because of the lingering knee issues".
