http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2015...otes-possible-destinations-for-demarco-murray Is Murray really about to hit the open market? This guy has Curtis Martin skill, a future Hall of Famer with no doubt. If you can't have a franchise Qb, please get into the discussion of a franchise running back. Murray-Ivory-Powell....damn
He probably does hit the open market. I like him ALOT...I think we trade Ivory for a decent pick to get Murray or keep em all. All depends what we try to do on offense. Again, HUGE fan of Murray
He picked a great time to have a career year. I wouldn't call him a future HOFer though. He's gonna have to do what he did last year for atleast 4 more years to be that. For what he's gonna get contract wise I dont think its worth it. IMO, he's gonna go to a team like Arizona or Indy that is an elite RB away from being a bigger contender than what they are.
Murray was the key to the Dallas resurgence but he will be 27 next year, Curtis was 25 in his first year w/ us. he does have similar touches though. Curtis in NE: 958 carries and 117 recs. 1075 touches Murray: 934 carries and 170 recs. 1104 touches I think we underutilize Ivory.
He was running through gaping holes in Dallas. Ivory would have 1500 yards behind that oline. They drafted a OL in the first round 3 of the last 4 years.
I see a future Hall member. The Jets would be an exciting offense with Murray in the backfield; and some long awaited additions to the line.
Way to champion the exception to the rule. We should draft QBs in the sixth round every year because Tom Brady was drafted in the sixth round
I bet he goes to Jacksonville, who has the most cap space in the league, a big hole at RB, and a young QB in need of some help. I agree with other posters that Ivory is somewhat underutilized (though perhaps by design to keep all backs fresh) and underrated, and that paying a RB who really only had one great season behind a top notch line is a risky idea. I'd much rather see them sign Spiller at about 3-4M per year and let him be a dynamic piece of Gailey's offense or else take one on day 2 or 3 in the draft. IMO, Murray would not be a good investment at all for the Jets
Only thing I'll say is that if we do sign Demarco Murray, then the o-line better be improved (it already needs improvement, but even more so if we signed Demarco). Overall, I'm not against it. It's not like the o-line doesn't need improvement anyway. Demarco + Ivory would be sweet. Backup plan would be CJ Spiller.
Possibly. Would make sense considering Jennings is almost 30 and missed some time last season. If they dont think Andre Williams can be a lead back they could be a darkhorse for Demarco. If they landed him and Cruz came back the same player that would be a scary offense.
Hey I'm not doubting his ability at all, I've paid attention to him since he plays in my local area and he has always impressed me, I just think that the value of premier backs has dropped significantly in recent years. Who knows, he could end up signing with a team for big money and carrying then to the playoffs, but the gamble is risky especially for non contenders
Probably JPP would be a bigger priority but I hear JPP is going to the highest bidder. Its all about the cash, he was quoted as saying. Sounds like Revis 2.0
A bit of a fumbleitas problem, but think the kid looks identical to Curtis Martin style. I think this is a guy that could change the NYJ's offense quickly. Oline has been long ignored by this franchise and no qb is coming here and not running for their life. At least with a running game we set the tone on offense. The idea of a backfield like Murray & ivory has golden goose all over it.
He's a better bet to play a full 16 games than Percy, and Percy is on the books (for now) for $10 M next season. And DeMarco won't cost nearly that much. It all depends on the asking price and contract terms. But if he is allowed to walk, I think you have invite him in for a visit.
