It really kind of stinks to see a humble, hard-working young man like Ferguson lose out on money like that. Even if his bonus is more than I make in 5 years.

750k out of 60 million is literally nothing.

1.5% of his income, not much of a hit

Anyone who has made large amounts of money in bursts can tell you that your cost of living tends to skyrocket along with your earnings. $750 k is only a drop in the bucket to a billionaire.

If he has a binding contract with the team that requires him to work out, and he wants to perform on his end (ie work out at team facilities), but the team has prohibited/forbid him from any access to facilities, then isn't the team breaching that contract and subject to damages?

Is there language in his contract that deals with the possibility of an owner imposed lockout preventing him from working out?

I really don't see how $750k could be nothing, especially when you consider the fact that he has about 10-12 years average to make his money in this league

Im not sure that the lock out will cause him to lose his bonus, if im correct the bonus was contingent on D'Brick attending 85% of voluntary offseason workouts. If there are only 2 workouts all offseason and he attends both he should get the money.

Also I remember when the lockout was overturned by the judge in Minnesota, and ESPN specifically brought up D'Bricks situation and said that although he was not permitted to practice, the fact that he showed up and attempted to practice is likely to count towards his bonus.

Hes under contract for 60 million right now.

750k is about 1.5% off that (aka someone making 60k a year only makin 59,100 instead)

When its all said and done the guys easily gonna make over 100 million, 750k truly is shit to him

Clearly after seeing this thread he was filled with an unparalleled rage that would only be quenched upon posting in this thread. Of course because of that, and due to the fact that he was posting from his phone, he was unable to call 911 and get the cops to put out the fire on his computer before it consumed his poorly ventilated, basement apartment.

    Are you buying it?

D'Brick will be fine. I think he will still eat dinner and have a house to live in.

I hate to be that guy but you know this shit was mentioned when he signed his contract and some people said he was getting fleeced...

That said, there should have been a stipulation that said the bonus would still be honored if xxxxx

So by that standard a billionaire's cost of living must be outta sight.

If cost of living skyrockets it's due to choices made, not by the amount of money earned. Responsible people set a standard of living that can be maintained if the burst of money, or high income stream, is disrupted.
