.....for all of the gloomy gusses out there, as well as for the loyal jets fans who never rooted for their team to lose and who are actually glad that their team FINALLY put together a complete game and pulled off a monumental upset on the road, against one of the NFC's best teams. The Day After Positives are: We FINALLY put together a complete game...and we showed what we are capable of when we do that. That Rams play in the toughest division in football and are going to be a playoff team.....and we took it to them. The Jets basically outplayed the Rams from the get-go yesterday, which PROVES that this team HAS TALENT. That game yesterday was no fluke. The Jets D completely shut down Goff and the Rams offense while Sam and the Offense played a steady, efficient game. Even the Jets Special Teams got involved in the win. This game as well as the Raiders game, which we basically "won" until idiot Williams decided to throw it for his own personal reasons, prove that this team has young, promising talent on it. Much more talent than its record indicates. It just needs to be coached up. It also proves that we have a lot of guys with HEART who continued to fight for a victory and did NOT just "mail it in" bc the season did not go the way they wanted it to. NO quitters on this team which bodes well for the future! Which brings me to Positive # 2 Gase is still GONE. You gloomy gusses really need to stop worrying about him being retained. He is as good as gone. 1-2 wins at the end of the year aren't going to bring him back. So please stop obsessing over that, and just enjoy your team's big win yesterday and be happy for the players and the staff who showed such heart, because it ain't happening. Finally Positive # 3-We will still have a top 2 pick, and there are still going to be plenty of promising QBs to choose from IF that is the direction Douglas takes us in. We still have our pick of promising young QBs who a lot of NFL scouts are VERY HIGH on, including: Fields, Wilson, Mac Jones, Trask and Trey Lance. So the Jets are still going to get a great QB prospect even though they will be picking behind Jacksonville. So why are some of you guys so angry and throwing temper tantrums about how you are "done with the team" blah blah blah. It makes no sense. If our guys didnt quit on the season and still fought for a victory even after starting 0-13 than you guys can sure as hell refuse to "quit" on your fanhood and stand behind them! GO JETS!! Beat the Browns and the Pats and get some momentum heading into next year and get a great QB in the draft!!!
There are no positives. The sky is always gloomy and it rains shit everyday in Jet Land. This was the worst and most dissapointing game in team history. A game that will hurt the Jets for the next 20 years. F the Jets. They are cursed.
Sorry, but I don't see anything to be happy about today. We lost our chance to draft a blue chip FQB by winning a meaningless game. Only two people benefited from the win... Darnold and Gase. On whole, the franchise may have won the battle, but lost the war because of it. Now Chris Johnson has an excuse to either keep Gase or force Gase on the incoming HC as an OC. In that event, I'm done being a Jet fan. We have a #2 overall pick which is worth a helluva lot less than the #1 as I think only a blue chip OL guy is available. We not only lost out on the #1 overall, but we also just made the #1 we got from Seattle in the Adams trade worth less with the win. Only Homers get to enjoy a meaningless win. You always have tomorrows in Homerland where DP's become stars and the team suddenly becomes relevant in some vague future. It's always next year in Homerland.
Man. I am so disturbed. I am full of anger. But the points OP is making are valid. We have nice pieces and 2020 draft seems like a huge hit by Joe Douglas. I still have hope but damn that Lawrence kid was something special.
There are zero positives for winning that game yesterday. N O N E ! Z E R O ! This team can't even lose properly...
You guys sound like a bunch of losers, it’s pathetic now. Getting on a team for not quitting, plying their hardest and winning? When did Sam become so bad that he’s treated like he’s garbage? They surrounded him with no one. Give him weapons and he’s fine. The positives from yesterday are Becton and Q. Williams are going to be stars, Hall and Mann are going to be really good also. Maye has played great and their 2020 draft ended up being really good. Bunch of crybabies in every thread on here.
This old-time Jet fans loves it. Sam is fine and I don't care about the coach. Sit Williams down for the rest of the season. Concussion is no joke. Chance to trade the second pick for more top players and with most teams over the cap a good opportunity to add some quality free agents. Loved the focus on Williams and Shepherd being in the Rams backfield all day and Becton getting a big push up front. Joe Douglas has a chance to really elevate the talent. Getting what he got for Adams shows he knows how to work the system.
I wish you all the best with your optimism but if you've been a fan of the team for any extended period of time you know that this is just more of the same. NOTHING will truly ever change in Jets land. They are a doomed, forsaken franchise. It's just the way it is. NFL Scouts are always very high on QB's. That's their job. Doesn't mean shit. I've seen enough of Lawrence to know he has a legit shot at being a great one. Those don't come along often at all. The rest of them are a bunch of dart throws, nothing more. This franchise will most likely never get it right. I'll probably become a Chargers fan. I really like that young QB. Stud for many years to come. Like Lawrence.
There are no positives...none, zip, zero...NADA. Not one positive. In fact, as clearly stated in just about every newspaper, website, TV show, talking head and every other NORMAL fan of every other SINGLE team.....no positives. Zero....None...Zip....Nada...
There are no positives. We did it yet again - we won a meaningless game late in the season. It just cost us a hell of a lot more than it usually does. I'm in disbelief. I thought this was the time we'd actually do things the right way and hit rock bottom so we can do a proper rebuild.
They put us through misery for 13 damn weeks with an absolute MORON at HC. The only light at the end of the season was that Gase was going to be gone and a generational QB was going to fall into our damn laps. You were probably the same fan who jumped for joy when they finished 6-2 last season. This win accomplishes absolutely nothing. There is nothing to be happy about.
ill be honest if you are including mac jones in the conversation about qbs i assume you havent seen him play. hes not a good qb. i think people are just frustrated because the only positive there was this year was them looking forward to the future qb. there was literally nothing else to root for this year for alot of fans. they saw the coach was useless, the team was severely limited so far as talent is concerned and the idea of tank for trevor made them feel like they had something to look forward to. and the team couldnt even do that properly. personally i think its kind of funny and same old jetsish. almost kind of expected them to end up fucking it up. but thats what being a jets fan is at this point. not drafting marino, having a superbowl contender and no back up qb and on and on.
To argue winning the game yesterday is a good thing simply because it was a win is to argue all wins are equal. And if all wins are equal, winning the Super Bowl would be no different to winning yesterday. I can’t think of a more delusional, ignorant and loser perspective on competition.
I don't want to hear this bullshit about "promising." I'm tired of hearing promising. You know what...I'm really fucking SICK of hearing PROMISING!!! What I want is the BEST prospect in a decade! I don't give a shit if you resurrected Vince Lombardi, put Dick Butkus as your defensive coordinator and brought Dick Vermeil back to run the office with Westhoff on the Special Teams. This fucking team isn't doing SHIT. Tom Brady gone from the division? Doesn't matter. Tua in Miami is now going to spend the next decade ripping our assholes apart and when's he's not Buffalo will be. What a colossal waste of my life and time...
