Darren Sharper going to prison for 9 years for Sexual Assault and Rape.

Former NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper was sentenced to nine years in federal prison Monday immediately after he pleaded guilty to sexual assault in Arizona, marking the first change of plea of the day for the former safety accused of drugging and assaulting women in four states.

Sharper admitted sexually assaulting one woman and trying to attack another in suburban Phoenix in 2013. It is very unusual to sentence defendants immediately after a guilty plea, which normally can take weeks or months.

Between Sharper & Sapp the NFL Network is setting quite the precedent. At least Goodell makes us watch all those stupid ass "no more" commercials or I'd start to think the NFL has a problem.

Tell women you're an NFL network analyst and I bet most in a bar would open up to him easily. But instead he decided to rape and drug them. Lame.

He took a "global plea" and will do 20 YEARS IN PRISON for crimes committed over 4 states. He deserves every day and then some Imo.

Actually it is 9 years in Arizona, which he will serve concurrently with his 8 year sentence in Nevada and his 20 year Louisiana sentence. Once he serves his 9 years in FBOP he will transfer to Louisiana to serve the balance of his state term.

Not sure if he was able to negotiate his specific location as part of the deal, probably won't have it terrible in Fed. but if he gets sent to Angola when he starts his state time then he will have some fun there. Chances are he won't have much state time left by the time he finishes his 9 years. He is getting credit for time served of 300 days so by the time he is transferred he should have 8 years of fed. time left.
Louisiana he would actually be eligible for parole after 80 months and if he stays out of trouble he could only do a max of 120 months, subtracting out his 9 years in FBOP he would only have a max of 12 months left to do there but they will probably just release him after his 9 years of fed. time.
Looking like the 9 years originally posted will be the actual time he does.

Everything I'm readying says he's only serving 9yrs. If that ends up being the case that is so ridiculous. The prosecutor who negotiated that deal should be ashamed of themselves. I'd like to know how they are going to explain that to all of his victims. A serial rapist! 9 years! That's infuriating!

Lack of evidence and the fact the victims may have not wanted to testify put it inline with other first time offenders in multiple rape cases according to a former federal prosecutor. He is also testifying against 2 other defendants and will be on probation for life. I believe I also read that the victims were agreeable with the sentence.

That was just the Nevada plea deal, 38 months to 8 years. It is going to be served concurrent with his other charges and I heard the federal plea of 9 years was without any provision for parole and that he would serve the entire 9 years. In his Los Angeles case he is getting 20 years and has to serve at least 50%, with credit for time served he still has 9 years to do.
He is definitely not getting out in 3 years.
