Veteran DT Kimo von Oelhoffen who was signed as a free agent last year was a big disappointment and was let go today by the Jets.
The Jets announced their final cuts late today to get down the the maximum 53 man final roster. Notable names that were on the list are Veteran DT Kimo von Oelhoffen, LB Anthony Schlegel who was a third round pick last year, veteran DT Bobby Hamilton who had an excellent camp, LB Andre Wadsworth who was attempting a comeback after a seven year absence from the league and also rookie RB Danny Ware who seemed to lock up a roster spot after the retirement of Cedric Houston and an impressive camp.
The list of the others released today are as follows:

    RB Alvin Banks
    OT Marko Cavka
    CB Manny Collins
    LB Blake Costanzo
    WR Chris Davis
    OT Na'Shan Goddard
    DE Michael Haynes
    CB Alphonso Hodge
    WR Frisman Jackson
    OL Dominic Moran
    WR Evan Prall
    WR Brett Rafliff
    S Jamie Thompson
    G Robert Turner
    LB Jason Trusnik
    S Raymond Ventrone
    C Joe Villani

might've been worth it to keep Hamilton around for D-line depth

Wow, very surprised Ware got cut...he had a good preseason. Who is going to be the #3 RB now? Brad Smith? Also, I'm surprised that Haynes, Hamilton, and Kimo all got cut...that leaves us with just Hicks as backup DE. Also, according to this, we're carrying 5 TEs (Baker, Ryan, Kowalewski, Pociask, Dearth) & 2 FBs (Barnes & Tutt)? Strange.

Yeah I was just about to post that...who's gunna be our third RB? Plus I have confidence Mangini will use all those players you're confused on for a special reason at some point thru the year.

so who they hell do we have at RB?

I don't think cutting Hamilton was smart and it really seemed like Ware was in for sure. Schlegel looked good the other night but I guess Harris' play leaves him the odd man out.....I just thought he might be given some more time to develop

I am glad Kimo is out though, he's too old.....we seem to have kept alot of TEs though eh? You'd think they would cut one to keep someone like Hamilton.

I think the CS saw enough out of Tutt running the ball that they will use him as the #3 RB. I think Ware will get a spot on the P.S.

The cuts aren't finished yet though...

Didn't someone say Michael Haynes was our best pass rusher in training camp? So much for that...

Tutt will be that guy, unless the Jets pick up some other RB who was cut.

Ware is a guy who goes down at first contact too often. We saw this in the preseason. It was a problem at Georgia, too. If he gets good blocking and finds a hole he is alright. Of course, you can say that about all RBs, but my point is he is not quite strong enough.
Tutt is more versatile than Ware.

I think/hope they trade one of the TEs for a good guard.
