I had never seen it before. Maybe some of you have not as well. Great speech, great player, and an even better person. Worth a watch.
I saw it when he got inducted...It really was a great speech. If I recall, it was a dedication to his mother. Great speaker too, dude is cool guy
Yeah, a lot was about his childhood and his mom. She went through a lot. He did it all by heart. No cards or notes.
It brings a tear to the eye. I was wearing No. 28 at Wembley last week, I refuse to believe that anyone in the 84,000 crowd was wearing the jersey of a classier individual.
A class act in the truest sense. "Hopefully, my legacy is a legacy of character. For me, I would rather be associated with words like 'integrity,' 'hard-working,' 'perseverance' and 'honest' more so than all the yards and touchdowns."
Was pre drinking with a bunch of buddies and made every shut up to watch this live. I'm the only Jets fan in the group but they know he's the reason I'm a Jets fan so they complied. 2 grown men, 1 a Dolphins fan, broke into tears watching him speak.
Thanks for sharing this. Curtis Martin was a great football player and one of my favorite Jets, but he is a great human being as well. Class act.
Awesome. Curtis didn't go off a sappy, prepared speech. He told the truth, warts and all. It takes a lot of guts and character to do that. But that is what Curtis Martin is all about. So proud he played for the Jets.
