http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/scoreboard?w=15 There is no evidence to this but Jets-Vikings might be the best non-protected game of week 15 Philly-Giants/Wash-Car will be protected by Fox and KC-SD will be protected by CBS leaving only a few games to be picked Washington(4-7) - NO(7-4) or NYG (6-5) Phil (5-6) Pittsburgh(4-7) - Car(7-4) Miami(5-6) - Buff(5-6) Jack(6-5) - Tenn (4-7) Chicago (9-2) - Tampa (3-8) All others are great vs. crap so that might turn off them for primetime. This is just speculation and there is no evidence of this happening. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's how the TV rules work right?
Jets play on Christmas night(sucks for me as I'm at a relatives house that night) which is a Monday. You might be right though that they probably don't want a repeat on primetime but they have done it before for certain teams(Pit had 2 primetime games in a row)
You're not gonna watch the game because you are at a relatives house? Ugh, Wait a minute...I may have the same problem!!!!
If you can't watch a primetime game because you're at a relatives house you need to kill said relatives then yourself.
I'm going with Jetfighter to the Vikes game. They better not move it, though it'll be close. Who else is going? Does anyone know when CBS had to protect its game for Week 15? If they had to make their selection a while back, they may have protected the Pittsburgh vs. Carolina game thinking it could be a matchup of Super Bowl contenders, leaving the SD vs. KC game open to be moved to the Sunday night game. That would leave the Jet game to stay at 12:00 p.m. CT.
I believe they wait on protecting games till the week before or week of when they pick the Sunday game this late in the season. Jets-Bears was protected by Fox 2 weeks before the game.
well they are going to decide on tuesday dec 5th (12 days before the game). If they think the jets will be 8-5 going into the game, and the vikings 6-7, maybe they pick that game. the best game is obviously that SD-KC game, but if cbs has it i dont know who they will pick.
The flex rules allow specifically for a team to have consecutive Sunday games. I'm sure the league would have no problem moving the game if it shapes up to have strong playoff implications. They only need to give 12 days notice to swtich the game, so there is still plenty of time to make that decision.
If both teams win their next two games (which is doubtful because Minnesota has @ Chicago coming up), then definitely. We might get it just because we'll be 7-6/8-5, going for the wild card, and yet to be featured on SNF.
I know it sounds weird, but CBS and FOX had to protect the games by the end of Week 4. The protected games have been submitted for a while now, and they can't go back to change anything. I've heard this everywhere, but here it is from one article: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/columnist/hiestand-tv/2006-11-13-flex-schedule_x.htm
Thanks Mister Moss. You answered my question. Both FOX and CBS were able to protect 5 games over the final 7 weeks of the season; it had been unclear to me when those decision had to be made. I think there's a chance that CBS protected the Pittsburgh/Carolina game and left the SD/KC game unprotected, meaning the SD/KC game can be pulled up by NBC when the flex schedule is announced on Dec. 5 for week 15. At least, that's what I'm hoping given I've got my flights booked to Minnesota on the assumption that the game will remain a 12 noon kick CT.
The biggest threat is the MIA/BUF game if both teams keep winning. They love divisional match-ups and both those teams have heritage. Jets need to put the kaibosh on Buf in two weeks anyway.
