Great article depicting how little help and depth we have at the cornerback position. Everyone is hoping Miller can pull it off this year, but coming off major knee surgery? Ouch. A 2nd rd corner seems to be a better decision, but if no one is available at #6 with no trade down options, then I wouldn't mind addressing this need with the #6 spot with McKelvin.

If I am the Jets I take BPA in the first round and in the second round I take the best CB available. There is very good depth at CB in this draft so I would target a 2nd round CB.

I know that I'd like to have Flowers in green and white.

I say pass rush is the biggest need....Corner a very very close 2nd.

So by all accounts with our first 2 picks we should be going RB, CB, DL, OL, WR, LB or QB.

At least we got it narrowed down. You'd think the draft was 2-3 rounds long tops the way it's talked about...

I like Antwaun Molden or Patrick Lee for us.

one of the top five corners will be available in the 2nd rd. if we dont select a DL/ LB hybrid with that 2nd rd pick than i see us going corner.

that is if we go offense in the 1st or not.

I'd be happy with Flowers or Porter in the 2nd. We can't afford to use our 1st on a CB unless we trade down to the mid-teens where in return we'd have acquired an extra 1st day pick.

McKelvin at 6 would be a huge mistake. If 2-5 goes Long, Dorsey, McFadden, Gholston; my vote would be Rivers. That'd be a great LBing crew, even with Thomas there.

I wonder if now that the Robertson deal is done if we will sign Poteat back before or after the draft so we dont have as big of a need

At #2 we will be in tremendous position to grab the best available CB of:

    Leodis McKelvin
    Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
    Aqib Talib
    Mike Jenkins
    Brandon Flowers
    Patrick Lee
    Tracy Porter
    Antoine Cason
    Brandon Flowers
    Justin King
    Charles Godfrey

That is 10 CBs with at least a 2nd round grade.
I think we are going Tracy Porter who I think is a great player but could see Flowers as a zone type player for us.

Poteat is still an aging veteran, that should be the starter at nickel...so corner will still be a need, even if he re-signs.

At every position that we have a need (QB, CB, pass rush) we have serviceable guys who are ready to play but just aren't that good. I don't see any of those needs being greater than the others.

Brandon flowers is an eric mangini type guy?!?!?!

He posted a photo of bags of drugs and stacks on cash on his facebook! He's not only an idiot, he has tremendous character concerns. He may hit hard but especially in lue of Pacman I would bet the farm he isn't a jet.

If it has to be a Cornerback then i would go with Leodis McKelvin...Thats my guy at this point... Then second would be Brandon Flowers.

I just watched some of the pittsburgh game and guess who was in on the majority of plays...you guessed it...hammerin' hank poeteat. The guy is non-stop. I really don't understand why we yo-yo him like we do. He deserves a long term deal. He's the 2nd best CB on the roster right now.

Just goes to show you how much our Corners suck balls. The only decent/good option is a FA right now, meanwhile David "Who's Dick is he sucking that he's still on the team" Barrett is well...that pretty much says where he's at.

I think if we sign Tracy Porter (not too 'high' on Brandon 'Weed' Flowers) and re-sign Poteat we'd have a good CB situation. I don't wanna get ahead of myself here, but maybe signing Roosevelt Colvin to give our LB depth would be pretty sweet after the Draft dust settles.

Yeah...well...Poteat isn't on the roster right now, and suprisingly that's a problem.

I see Flowers as a Pro-Bowl Cover 2 CB, but if we want our guys on an Island than no way will he be a Jet, its funny or I guess sad how our defensive system is really dictating alot of what we need in a player at many positions in somewhat of a negative way. I love Flowers as a player and if we played a cover 2 he would be top 2 or top 3 CB.
