Trent Dilfer said this morning on ESPN that Manning would never consider the Jets for the following reasons: 1) Hates Rex's personality 2) Jets do not have good receivers 3) Jets do not have the TE's to run the 2 TE offense that Manning thrives in. Dilfer said Manning will end up in Arizona.
If what Adam Schefter is correct..all assumptions. He'd make ~10m for being the starter opening day. ~5m extra for 8 games. and ~5m for 16 games. total of 20m..yeah no way we can afford that..so just stop with this Peyton talk.
NOT NECESSARILY INFORMATIVE, but here's a small article on ESPN Insider's rumors page. 11:44 AM ET Peyton Manning | Colts TopEmailComments 1 The health of Peyton Manning is going to play a pivotal role in whether the Indianapolis Colts pick up his $28 million option bonus. Previous reports have been somewhat pessimistic on the QB's recovery, though Manning himself is hopeful on making a full recovery. Scanning the known galaxy for any updates on the QB's prognosis, we came across a radio appearance by Adam Vinatieri in which the Colts placekicker offered his take on where No. 18 stands in his rehabilitation process. According to the Palm Beach Post, Vinatieri told Jorge Sedano on 790 AM (Miami) that he saw Manning throwing footballs near the end of the 2011 season and that "he was developing nicely. Was he quite all the way back yet? Probably not, not to his standards, but he definitely is not that far off. ... He's busted his butt all season long and he's been working out extremely hard these last months to make sure he's gonna be ready to go for this next year." The timing of Manning's recovery will certainly play a role in whether any other teams are interested in signing him. It's possible that he won't be able to pass a physical until later this summer, and by that point, some teams will have already signed other free agents and/or drafted young prospects. Of course, if he does make a full recovery (or near enough a full recovery that he can play at a high level again), plans can certainly change in July, August or later. - Tim Kavanagh
@mortreport Peyton Manning medically cleared to resume NFL career, per sources. More coming on ESPN now. #NFL32 Mort just posted this on twitter. Figured I'd put it here.
Nobody does..Arizona has 300k less cap space than the Jets do so that's when you look for other places to cut.
