nice thought but it's not gonna happen. I truly believe Mangini and Sutton are a package. Either they both go or they both stay and with the Jets probably going to the playoffs, both are gonna stay

Crennel at DC and Callahan at OC would be legit. I'd assume Crennel goes back to NE before he comes here though.

I think Mangini will demote him back to an LB coach. If you remember during this past offseason, there were more than a few credible stories going around that had us picking up Rob Ryan if the Raiders let him go.

Even Ryan himself said something along the lines of "I will have a new job pretty quickly" if the Raiders fired him.

Sutton has to be gone, especially considering the replacements that may be available.

Personally I would like to punch him in the stomach for this nonsense and hopefully his nuts will finally drop

Does Ryan still want to come here? His defense has gotten torn up the last few games so I dunno if he will really be that huge upgrade everyone thinks we will get. At least he has fire though.

We got rid of Hackett after a playoff season, so I can still see getting rid of Sutton after this year.

Ryan sucks, Kiffin was smart to want him gone.

I hope Cowher comes here - and brings Dick LeBeau with him in the process.

Sutton may be out regardless this year. You don't try to get rid of someone last offseason only to keep them beyond this year when the defense was as bad as it is this year (run D excluded).

He has to go, he's not the guy that Mangini wants. I don't believe it. You can't suck this bad and stay.

Can anyone tell me what Crennel has ever done as a DC w/o Bill Belichick around?

That would be a nice story just to have Marty back in Cleveland.

That's a hell of an assumption. We may not win another game after how we looked the last two. We are now in a 3 way time for the division. It's pretty obvious that there will be no wildcard from the east so we better win the division outright.

if the Jets are smart...they'll fire Mangini...and replace him with Rex (not Rob) Ryan.....his defense has been consistently awesome....and he's due for a promotion.

Haha I agree. I don't really think Crennel was all that big of a factor in NE. He's got creds but so does his boss who incidently is a D guy.

fuck Crennel...all he knows is how to eat a daily bucket of KFC...in fact, he's quite similar to Mangini.

As much as I don't like Sutton, I don't really blame him for the defense's performance. The players got nothing done yesterday. No matter when Sutton read San Fran correctly and sent a blitz, the defense was unable to break through the Niner's OLine. You can't fault Sutton for that.

The defense was outplayed two weeks in a row. That's not coaching. That's the players.

Can he use a secondary coach? He chews a lot of gum, and stands around with a blank look on his face, but he has strong ties to the Cleveland area.
