This is from rotoworold: I'd give our #1 for this guy. He is a proven stud! Why mess around trying to train a new back when we can just plug this guy in? Kinda like another back we once had (CM) but I won't name any names.
You guys are way off! This year was just a streak of bad luck. Here are the facts: 3-year Average WAS - - 328 1474 4.5 59 10 36 255 7.1 38 1 2005 WAS 16 16 352 1516 4.3 47 11 30 216 7.2 23 0 2004 WAS 15 15 343 1315 3.8 64 5 40 235 5.9 18 2 2003 DEN 13 13 290 1591 5.5 65 14 38 314 8.3 72 0 2002 DEN 16 12 273 1508 5.5 59 15 33 364 11.0 66 2 How can anyone in their right mind not want this guy?!!! He could single handedly take us to the big dance. (we are not far) Heck, I'd even be willing to let Penny play for another year
No F'ing way. Portis is a great player, but I'm not giving up my #1 for an injury prone back. I'm sorry, but we can do better. Betts is a decent back, not awesome, and if he beats out Portis, it says something about Portis.
Here's what will happen. The Jets will be interested enough to check him out but another team will want him much more than we do. He goes somewhere else.
Rob A, I completely disagree with you, but I don't want Portis at all. I would rather have a speedy finesse runner to fit into the Mangini system than a power-back.
agreed. portis is 100x better than both of them put together. he is threat to score anywhere on the field.
Doesn't he have a huge contract? That would be a horrible cap hit for the redskins and our front office seems more inclined to draft someone or sign someone they can make better rather then trade draft picks for veterans who are more difficult to mold.
Sounds like someone doesn't like the Houston/Washington combo. And by the way, last year I said that we desperately need a RB, and everyone called me an idiot. This year I say we don't, and still everyone thinks I'm an idiot.
