I'm a big fan of Simms, the only downside to him is keeping him injury free.
Trade Chad and pick up Simms as back up, + Henne in the draft??

Chris Simms went to my high school so I'd love to see him in Gang Green. He probably only has one more shot at an NFL career, but I think he could work out if he had a good line. great passer.

What kind of shape is he in? Will he be able to play at the NFL level again?

I think Phil Simms might be a better pickup at this point. I will pass on his kid.

Simms had 1 good half of a year, there's no way I get rid of Chad for Simms. Chad is our best option, we cannot get rid of him w/o a reliable veteran coming in here and they aren't available.

It amazez me after 1 bad year everyone wants to get rid of Chad. He was bad last year but we had an awful OL, he had no chance. This was his first healthy year NOT leading us to the playoffs. He deserves another shot and he is our best option.

Chad has had 4 healthy years and 3 of them have been good to great. he was great in '02, really good in '04 and good in '06.

We are not debating chad in this thread.. its about Chris Simms.

I'd take a Flier on him and see how he does. I wonder how much upside he has left, he was just hitting his stride in Tampa when he got hurt.

I would take a shot w/ him but not w/ Chad gone and Clemens as our only other QB.

Bring him in to compete for the 3rd string with Tui...I'm all for it...If y'all remember, we tried to trade for him after Fiedler went down in '05 but the Bucs wanted too much, so there is a history with the FO at least.

I meant as a TC try out, thats all he can get right now, most teams will pick him up and he'll be the #3. If he can pick up where he left off, which are slim odds, then he may start for a team again.

Our QB situation is in the shitter. What could they possibly have to lose by giving Simms a look?

Yeah Simms definately has enough potential to get a shot...an addition of Simms and a possible qb through the draft flacco/henne?? would really bolster competetion in TC and would almost definately land us 3 good quarterbacks after TC.
