    Craziness.

And somehow, the Eagles can't get any value for three starting caliber quarterbacks.

I'm puzzled by this. What is his salary based on? How does a guy spend 5 years in the NFL, not play a single down, get that kind of money?

    Anyone got any insight?

    Holy hell...

There could be a benefit for us, though. With that early second, SD may decide to use it to grab a RB and go corner in the first, leaving Ryan Mathews for us. Pick him up and trade Leon for a 3rd, perhaps?

This is honestly the most shocking move I remember in a long time. Brady Quinn gets traded for a 6th round pick and 3rd string RB, and they give up all that for WHITEHURST? Are they crazy? And then they pay him 5 mil a year? After never having played a down? To be a backup? I know this guy was highly regarded as Rivers' backup, but I'm befuddled.

Apparently, he's the new starter for the Seahawks.

He was always pretty good for the Clemson Tigers, but never great. This is a very strange move.

He's not going to be a backup for long.

I think Carroll is banking on Whitehurst to be similar to Matt Hasselbeck, who took a few years to develop.

wow...Carroll with a bold move.......a bold move indeed.

Didn't see that coming at all.

I guess the Cardinals are stuck with D.Anderson and M.Leinart for the time being...lol

EDIT: Maybe the Cards will take interest in K.Clemens now......he's got plenty of experience in TC quarterback competitions.

    Dear Mr. Whitehurst,

I have always been a big fan of the Seahawks and was wondering if you could get me Mr. Hasselbeck's autograph. I understand that he is very busy and gets a lot of fan mail so I was hoping that you could help me out. Thank you very much.

    Sincerely,
    Some Asshole

For the record, I just saw on the bottom line that the CHARGERS are giving up a future 3rd round pick.

In terms of base salary, they're paying him the same amount as Tom Brady and Matt Ryan made last year, and more than Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees, and Kurt Warner made.
