    1. He beat them @ Pats last year
    2. He is a SUPERB short yardage passer...the weather will call for this
    3. He isn't a rookie going against an undefeated team.
    4. He has played in bad weather before.
    5. The Patriots know he can beat them. (Same Pats defense as last year)

He deserves this last shot at it.

This thread makes baby Jesus have diarrhea.

Seriously, man, Chad was lobbing dump-offs by the time he got benched. If there's any wind, they'll be automatic INTs. We need to keep Clemens in there for the remainder of the year.

We don't even need this win, why not just give Kellen the extra experience of playing.

HE BEAT THEM LAST YEAR - SAME DEFENSE.

Think about it. Anyone who says "We don't need this win" needs to GTFO!
You play to win the game.

Chad can't win the game anymore. He beat Buffalo last year, did that mean anything this year? Hell no. Your logic is flawed.

I didn't mean it like that.

I'm not saying play to lose, why would you put pennington in when he obviously isn't going to do anybetter.

Jake Plummer beat the Pats last year too... Do you think that means he could have done it this year? Joey Harrington led the Dolphins to a 21-0 victory over the Pats last year... Think he could do it this year?

    Things change....

Although I do agree starting Chad would give us a better chance of winning, there's not much of a difference. Whether the Jets even have a chance to win is if Bill and the Pats will really show up and play their hearts out for "revenge" or if they're looking ahead to the tougher games. Either way, a Chad over Clemens move would not make too much of an impact.

I think Chad would give us a better chance of winning and/or not getting destroyed on Sunday. Does this make a bit of difference? No. Clemens is starting as he should be. Kellen Clemens is our starting QB. Thats not going to change baring injury this year. This thread, while having very valid points, is flawed simply on the basis probability. Chad is not our starting QB anymore.

Don't forget, there was a first time playing the Pats for Chad too. They were great then and they are great now. There was also a first time for Chad beating the Pats. If Kellen is our starting QB, he needs have his shot also.

While Chad may very well give us a better chance to beat the Pats on Sunday, there are other factors that can play into Kellens hands. For one, we all do not know what he is really capable of yet. Secondly, his arm strength can, as mentioned above already, give the ball a fighting chance in the wind if we are going to go with the traditional non-dink dunk game. For the most part, it will be our ability to run the ball, and our ability to stop the Pats running game that will give us even the smallest chance. Also take-aways on defense.

Hey, its going to be BAD weather in Boston. I live here, trust me I know. That alone gives us a better chance then if it were nice weather or in a dome. With the storm thats comming here this weekend, it should be anybody's game come Sunday. I wouldn't bet on a win (I never bet against NE anymore lol) but any given sunday people, ya know?

I want Chad to start because I really want our best chance to defeat these pricks. But Kellen should still get the start despite any personal feelings.

You put chad in and everyone will be calling for Mangini's head after a 3 int performance, 2 pick 6's, and a 52-9 loss. Play kellen he's our future.

There is ZERO chance Chad gives us a "better chance to win". It is just ridiculous. Does anyone even remember how incredibly bad he was this year. He lost the job for a reason. There is no reason whatsover for him to start. EVER AGAIN. Please, for the love of Pete, let it go. Chad is DONE>

    1. It's a new year
    2. The only thing Pennington is "SUPERB" at is getting injured
    3. Clemens isn't a rookie, he's just never started before. Tough games like this can only make him better and/or show us what he's really got
    4. Who cares?
    5. The Patriots also know that they can destroy us when he starts, just like they did in Week 1

Its not a terrible thought meanandgreen but we've made the move to Clemens and you've got to stick with that decision the entire year so you have a full body of work to judge..Benching him would mess with is psyche and could affect the rest of the season..Stay the course!
