The much-hyped broadcast of Billy Joel's 100th show at Madison Square Garden was abruptly cut a couple of minutes before the end, right at the climax of his iconic "Piano Man" song (when only the audience sings the final refrain). Coverage of the Masters ran over by 31 minutes, and CBS cut to local news in the Eastern and Central time zones at 29 minutes past the hour. https://www.billboard.com/music/pop...ison-square-garden-show-piano-man-1235656814/ This is even stupider than the Heidi game, in that CBS knew for two hours exactly how much time they had; all they had to do was take out a few of their own promos to make sure they got to the end of the show, which would have cost them nothing in advertising dollars.
I bet there were 12 pharmaceutical commercials and 9 insurance ads during the broadcast. This stuff is so dumb.
