Don't get me wrong I love this message board, but I think it's time the man love for the quarterbacks come to an end with this draft. Look, to trade up for a quarterback when we have SOOOO many other needs is just not the way to go. I would be shocked if that's what we did, but the fact that people want us to is moronic.

We are starting new and Mangini needs draft picks to get HIS type of players on this team. You can't do that by giving them all away for one unproven player. Nevermind that, what about Chad? Have we all forgot that he is on our team? I realize many are writing him off and I don't blame you, but at least give this man ONE LAST CHANCE. As much as we potentially need a QB we also need a RB, and there are tons of them in this draft.

So I say we stay put and get D'brick/Mario or maybe Hawk and then stay with the 29 and get Maroney because there is a good chance he will be there. From there on out it's best player available.

Please just stop with the qb threads though. Pennington deserves one last shot and if he fails then so be it. Truth be told if he does fail we can always break the bank next year for Brady Quinn, but I think it's too soon to close the door on Chad, and we also have too many other spots to fill.

i agree with all of your opinions except after Maroney instead of BPA we need to get the best O-lineman available hopefully Mangold or Jean Gilles or even Jon Scott at 35 in that order.

lol how can we stop talking qbs.. NEWFLASH no one knows what the jets are thinking every thing is speculation. If they sign runyan i i will bet money we wont be drafting D brick..the only draft speculation we have is tat jets schedule visits the big 3 qbs. also chads not coming back they would have cut him this year if they didnt need the cap room.

    What we need to stop

is the man love for friggin' Quinn. I almost think that everyone against drafting a QB this season secretly wants Quinn.

Sure Quinns going to be a stellar QB but imo we only have a 3-4yr window, and by drafting a QB now, that gives a 2 yr window to win, if we draft quinn next year, we are realistically looking at a 1yr shot.....

    Good point

And who says we will be in a position to draft him? Or that he won't blow out a knee or something next season?

In a word, no. It's the mainstay of any NFL team. All else revolves around this position. We need to resolve it and then build around it. So far, I'm not satisfied we've done that.

Yeah, I think we should draft only RB's and run the wishbone.

Yes I realize you are being sarcastic, but even if this was a real thought then it wouldn't work. We need runningbacks more than qbs at this point. Also who says we only have a 3-4 window to win it all? On what basis? What tremendous players will we be losing in that time?

And yes I understand how the QB is the most important position of any team, but that was the point of this thread. If Chad comes back we already have our answer. So why not wait one more year before we sign another 60 million dollar contract under the same position?

Chad is the biggest question mark in the nfl right now... chad doesnt even have a timetable for his return.

    We don't need RBs

We've got CMart, Houston, Blaylock and Askew.

im not even gonna lie we could use some new blood at rb.. i like houston but i just dont invision him as a everydown back especiallywith the thyroid condition... blaylock looks like a product of KC oline. and cmart well i ope the injury was the real reason for hi lack of explosiveness through the hole. but they said he got hurt in week 2 and i didnt see anything impressive out of him in week 1.

Houston can flat out play and the thyroid is under control. CMart will have a good year. Blaylock? Haven't seen much of him. We'll have to see what hes got. Point is, we have other needs that are alot more pressing.

i didnt say he cant play... but he wore down every game he got some real carrys.. even annoucers pointed that out.. he isnt a 20-25 carry workhorse runningback. i agree though its not a pressing need.

I agree with this. Stop worrying about qb, i dont really think we need more running backs, and we should focus on our needs (offensive line, defensive end(?), and cornerback).

Thank you.............finally someone said it....................give pennington one more shot if he doesn't do good we use Ramesy and just for a backup we should pick up Brodie Croyl or Charles Whitehurst in the 2nd +3rd if neccessary.
