So I just had my draft in my main league and my strategy somewhat fell apart because of what was available to me... my question is... can I win with Kevin Kolb as my starting QB, and is my roster strong enough to support him in this small of a league?

10 teams, PPR, QB TDs = 6 pts, standard format otherwise, I had the 10th pick in the draft

    QB K. Kolb
WR R. Moss, S. Smith (CAR), H. Ward
    RB M. Turner, D. Williams
    TE V. Davis
    WRT R. Brown

B QB D. McNabb, WR S. Rice, WR S. Moss, WR J. Jones, WR J. Gaffney

Also, do you think I should drop Gaffney for either T. Jones or T. Hightower?

Any comments about my team would be much appreciated!

Not a bad team, but not a great one either, you could compete with a little tweaking. First thing I noticed is that you don't have a RB on the bench and will need one when you're starters/flex player has a bye. Gaffney is probably the safest bet to drop seeing as he has a 4 game suspension and with Housh signing there is now their #4 receiver.

Kolb is def a little unknown, I tried to stay away from him in my earlier draft, but I might be put in the same position tomorrow with a deeper league. If he plays like he did in the pre-season you may need to make a change, but if he looks at all like he did in his two starts last year you'll be fine. McNabb is a good option on the bench, he may put up good numbers in a new system this year. If Kolb worries you that much, follow the stat lines of week 1 and 2, there is always a rookie or breakout player that has gone un-drafted, pick him up and use as trade bait for a better qb. If you drafted last your waiver priority should be one and most leagues have at least a couple people who will pull the trigger on trades for players with early success.

You shouldn't worry too much, you have a pretty solid starting roster. If Kolb turns out all right this team could compete well.

Kolb is unknown, but you know going in Reid hates running the ball so fantasy wise he should put up big numbers.

I don't know what Gaffney suspension you're talking about. I think he has a nice year. You can make a case for either cutting him or Jacoby, but either one has more upside than Hightower or TJ. Hightower could be good for PPR, but you don't need an RB yet, so you don't have to make a move yet.

You can win, but 6 point QB touchdowns will be a bitch for you.

That team can certainly win on any given week.
The Kolb/McNabb combo isn't terrible at all.

Hightower being available in a 10-team PPR league is very surprising.
All he does is catch passes, and the Cards still don't seem to have full confidence in Wells (who is banged up already) carrying the load.

I'd drop either J.Jones or S.Rice for Hightower. Hightower at least has a chance of being in your starting lineup once in a while at flex....what are the chances that J.Jones ever starts for you?

I drop Rice for Hightower immediately... Hightower is a perfect flex player for a PPR league IMO... Won me numerous games last year from my flex spot getting 10-15 points consistently.

I wouldn't drop Jones because he's my sleeper pick for this season... I'm somewhat buying into the hype that he surpasses Walter and becomes a force at #2 in that offense.

On the other hand, I see Gaffney as flavor of the month so really it'd come down to either him or Rice.

On one hand Gaffney could produce for me immediately if he ever cracked my lineup and has more potential as Mack says... on the flip side Rice could be a league winning receiver at the end when the playoffs roll around.

    Dilemma!

I definitely think I'm going to follow the majority advice though and grab Hightower soon as I can.

I've been avoiding Kolb in all my leagues, I just don't trust him enough to depend on him for a season.

    Haha, my bad.
For some reason I automatically thought "James Jones" of the Packers.

I agree that I'd prefer to keep Jacoby. Rice will be missing at least 6 games, and is it a given that he even comes back healthy at all this year? Very risky, imo.

Sorry early this morning and I confused Stallworth and Gaffney. Dog sitting and the little fucker was barking from 4am on, only got a few hours sleep, why I was on TGG so early. My apologies.
