Since I'm the only person from Wisconsin here, I just thought I'd take a moment to express my feelings about Franks. I just wanna say one thing first. Franks did not magically decrease in skill. He can still be that probowler he once was. In fact going into last season I thought he was the best TE in the division. He Is a good TE. He could be great with great players around him. Donald Lee just emerged as one of the better TE's in the NFL now and Franks wasn't as needed. He also was starting to get very injury prone. Stats from NFL.com wouldn't show it but he'd get hurt quite often. Tho when healthy he never ever drops passes and is especially a threat in the end zone for being the tall man he is. He doesn't have the most yards in his career but all of his catches were usually 3rd down conversions or touchdowns. Like I said, he's mainly a redzone guy. That's why he never had more than 500 yards receiving. Don't let the numbers decieve you. Overall I think Keller should be our starting TE, but I would LOVE to see lots of 2 TE formations especially in the redzone. I think we'd be pretty unpredictable in that case. (Also, we should trade Baker for at minimum a 5th round pick.)
Keller is not going to be our starting TE this year unless he can block. if Baker is gone Franks will be starting and if Baker stops whining and returns Baker will be the starter. keller will be a situational player at least in the near future.
Keller may not start games, but he will be playing passing downs due to the mismatch he creates for defenses. We won't see Keller in almost any running situations unless a draw to TJ or LW is called.
