Bryant's Mom Wants an Apology From Miami I'm only posting this because I think I am more offended on what ESPN is doing more than anything else. They seem to be reporting this before anybody, and it is just downright insulting to the Bryant family. This is far from sports related, and they are just dragging Dez Bryant's family so far into the dirt it's sickening. There was no need to dig up further information about Bryant's trouble Mother IMO, It's just not needed fucking move on. This kid is trying to become an NFL player, this is a new low for ESPN in my opinion (lower than their shitty reporting to begin with). The link on their website is the thread title, and the article name is in bold. That makes me question that they even believe what they are doing in sort of unethical.
I will now root my ass off for this kid to be an elite WR, so that when ESPN wants to hop on his knob, he tells them to go fuck themselves. It's a pipe dream, but I really want that to happen.
Dude I almost wrote that pretty much verbatim as the last sentence, but I thought I would be become to biased in my argument. But I am definitely doing the same. I would never give them a sniff of an interview. Also, during my Monday night poker game ESPN news was running on the TV, and they talked about this story twice every 30 min. Once in the middle, and again at the end.
ESPN beat the living shit out of a story? Wow...now's that's a shocker. At least we don't have to hear about Favre for a couple of days. Oh and on the topic of ESPN, are they still "breaking" every major news story out there? Just wondering.
sometimes they "confirm" a story. Which sounds like the broke it, but all it means is that one of their guys checked it out after someone else originally broke the story. Its another bullshit term to make it sound like they are on top... but I've seen plenty of other outlets use the same phrasing. If you find something genuine in this world, hold on to it. There isn't much of it around anymore.
yep, they don't break shit. They've been lifting stories, claiming them as their own "breaking stories" since the mid-90s, which coincides with the merger with Disney/ABC. Aside from cross-promoting shamelessly and only covering things that appear on their channels, this station has gone to real shit. If I need to see highlights, it's either on the Internet or SNY. I love how every reporter, for example Rachel Nichols (especially), needs to sound as if they're the only reporter coach whoever will talk to. "Coach Ryan told ME before the game..." Shut the fuck up. That station has killed sports and is a big reason why anyone under the age of 25 showboats or, generally, acts like a dick. You don't make it on ESPN unless you do some stupid dance after you do "something," or take someone's head off, whether it's a legal hit or not. Then they take some kid to task because he acted unsportsmanlike. Well, congratulations, fuckfaces. I quote one of my favorite commercials: they learned it from watching you. Ok, lol, rant over.
On a sidenote, ESPN are trying their very very best to break into the EPL over here in the UK and should spark a bidding war with sky in the off season, despite Sky having the contract for the next few years. Can't believe Shefter went to ESPN
Seeing fucked up shit like this from ESPN doesn't suprise me anymore, not since they pulled that bush league shit with Miguel Tejada on E:60. How that was setup absolutely disgusted me.
Can we just put this to rest now. Your son was drafted and you don't have to work the street anymore, and your husband can stop pimping you on the corner.
They bought him on the show for some BS interview, and in the middle of it asked him when he was born. Then after this, they pulled out this document saying that they'd gained his birth documents from his native country and that his birth date is different than the one he had just stated. He unknowingly walked into an interview with ESPN where their sole purpose was to tarnish his reputation and make him look like a clown.
Tell us how you really feel. The only time i ever turn ESPN on anymore is for things like the Draft. Even then I'm constantly searching for a way to see NFLN. Fuck ESPN.
I might be the only one on this board that sees it sorta like you....if I was going to give some troubled young kid 10-15 million dollars to me any and every question is on the table....his mother, father and he himself are far from pillars in the community. To me I have had alot worse things done on the job than that dumbass question. Try being tased, pepper sprayed I dont know how many times, having piss and shit thrown at you...when he has to deal with the same shit as me everyday then I will feel sorry him
Yea I totally forgot about that. That was awful. I remember he just got up and walked away from the interview. Really the only thing he could have done. But it's also not like he is the first player to come from these baseball academies and falsify his age.
Ummm what exactly are you referring to? You're sort of missing the point. The thread is about Bryant's situation, but about the unethical treatment given to him and his family by ESPN. To me it's unparalleled what anything else they have done, especially for a so called "family network."
Nah man I am just saying his family is the one that started this not ESPN, granted ESPN sucks but if his family was not as bad as they are then Bryant would have never been asked this question. As far as the highlighted stuff I am a cop in Las Vegas so I deal with shit all day for 10 hours, I would love if the worst part of my day consisted of someone asking me if my mother is a hoe and they are going to pay me 10-15 million. Sign me up anyday for that, Bryant and his family is far from a victim. Sorry that is just my opinion.
except they couldn't have set him up if he hadn't lied when answering the question, so you can't act like he wasn't an active participant in the elements required for them to make him look like a clown. you can't blame ESPN but absolve him, they are equally responsible for the situation.
