Hopefully they get this right. Problem is, the "right" guy generally becomes the "wrong" guy the moment he sets foot in the Jets' facility and becomes surrounded by all of the incompetence and dysfunction that resides there.
I hope that things will settle down once they hire someone. Gase needs to focus on coaching...dealing with the all the peripheral bullshit surrounding this team is better left to someone else.
Mr. trouble never hangs around, when he hears this Mighty sound, Here I come to save the day! That means that Mighty Mouse is on the way!
I hope it's Peyton Manning. I can't possibly think of a better candidate besides an experienced GM. Even then Manning would be better than most all of them.
I am actually curious to see what a GM and coach who are on the same page looks like. We probably haven't had that synergy since Mangini and Tanny to be honest. While Gase hasn't earned most people's trust, pairing him with a GM he has a relationship with makes sense especially with the way our reporting structure is set up. If Gase + the new GM have same contract deal lengths that would be better in the long run. If Gase fails I don't want to have a new coach then dealing with Gase's GM who that probably doesn't want to work with.
