Just heard on the radio that Favre has been diagnosed with some sort of minor muscle tear... it could be repaired with arthroscopic surgery but could even be postponed if he wanted to play again next year. Good News!
That's good news in that it gives some explanation as to why Farve couldn't throw worth a damn at the end of the season. The downside is of course, another season of Farve means pushing out our future Qb another year as well. Too bad there ain't no surgery that can fix "40"..
That is good news although from what I've seen on here, many Jets fans wouldn't care if he dropped dead.
i think he does the surgery, probably causes him to retire because he wont know for sure how it will feel before the jets want him to make a decision.
I just hope this means he won't attempt a foolish comeback Ted Thompson must be grinning from ear to ear knowing that the Jets are going to have to deal with the circus that accompanies every potential retirement possibility with Favre... and he got a frickin 3rd round pick as a parting gift as well.
Why did anyone think he needed major surgery? A shoulder injury that requires major surgery is usually obvious IMO...he was throwing bullets at different points even late in the season...I thought this was just more media BS so we can all sob for Savior Favre. The dude just sucked after the Titans. Theres no magic or hidden things in there.
They just announced it again... Brett Favre needs minor arthroscopic surgery and doesn't even need to do that right now if he wants to play again next year.
i really thought this was going to be a bigger injury, however there really is no such thing as minor shoulder surgery. especially for a qb. i am very confident that this played a roll in what went on the last month of the season. i am still annoyed that mangini didnt make sure it got looked at properly before now. this is actually the worst news the jets could have gotten. if it had been something major we would have wished brett farewell. now brett has every excuse he would ever want to not make a quick decision. wanting to see how things went and all.... that bothers me, at this point i think he should move on and take all of those that came on to ride his jock with him. (remember how much of a fiasco hofstra was after brett came?) its time to move in another direction and brett cannot have any impact whatsoever on who is chosen to coach this team he can also have no impact on decisions made by the new coach. that would seriously hamper the things that new coach has to do.
He isn't done at all. The whole point is that he's not gonna need surgery and that he'll be fine with rest... What the heck kind of comment is that? You belong on the game threads with that observation.
